Followup Message After they Sign up?

10 replies
Hey, how long after do you send you 1st followup message after they signed up to your squeeze page and if you offered them a free report? I was thinking a day after for the first couple of days with followups or they don't forget about you...what do you think?

Thanks
John

    The first one sent out by my autoresponder. In the message they receive they find a video, where I greet them and introduce my self and what I do. Usually people manually replaying to this message. Also, I never set up exact day when next message comes out. It goes when it is ready. It can be every day once a week. The only important thing here: it must be of the best quality!

    You mean the first message after the immediate one that gives them the download link for the "free report", which I think you're not counting as a message, here? Mine all go out the following day.

    As promised in the initial one, giving them the download link.

    It's all about expectation-setting and continuity.

        That should be sent immediately they've opted in, so that when they check their email as instructed on the "thank you" page, it's already there.

          Thanks but after that when should I send my next followup message? What would be you rintervals for the first week?

            There's no objective "right and wrong" about this. It depends on the subscriber demographics, and probably even on the niche, as well. And perhaps on whether or not they've opted in through a squeeze page.

            What matters is that you set their expectations and fulfil them, and have a continuity process in place. The frequency details, within reason, are less important.

            Would a little list of threads "well worth reading" about list-building help you, John? I have one here, somewhere ...

          This is how it works.
          Optin --> Confirmation message
          Confirmation --> Thank you page
          First follow up message --> Sends right after the confirmation, this is where you mention the download link
          Second Folow up message --> you can send it next day or after two days.

          Obviously you can use one time frame and use another to test and find out what works best for you. There is more to do with the content and the way you communicate with your prospects than jut writing and setting up an email series.

          If your goal is to provide your prospects quality service and build the relationship, you need to do it right.

    Yeah I've mostly heard of people doing a follow up the next day, but not the day after that. There's a fine line between being vigilant and following up and being a spammer! Try to have a good sequence that works for you and your audience and stick to it.

    in my opinion , you need to email them every day and sometimes twice a day , this way people will remember your name , just make sure to provide them with value and things will help them with their business.

    It depends on your niche, it depends on your offers. Have you thought you email series out? Has it got structure.... as in ... do the products you offer relate to each other in a certain pattern? Does product 2 compliment product 1 etc. Do they need the next product straight away or would it be better if they had it next day or next week or month.

    Put some structure to your email campaign.
