Where can I get free images that are ACTAULLY free?

There are some stock image sites but I normally use Flickr for photos. They have the best range of photos in my opinion.

Go to Flickr and search for photos with creative commons attribute.

One of the best I've seen is over at sxc.hu. While you're searching, you'll see some of the professional stock photos from their "sister" site which can come in handy sometimes if you really need a polished look but many times you can get away with just some of the free stuff. Keep in mind too that some of the free photos at sxc.hu require permission and/or attribution before use.

Wikimedia Commons some you have to attribute to source, some you don't

Hmmm, sorry quick question. Again I am very new to this so bare with me, are we not able to use the images in google images to add to blogs etc??

I was going to recommend sxu.hu, but it looks like a number of people beat me to the punch.

There is a wealth of good photos available through flickr that can be used under certain conditions. It was recommended earlier by ramkarthik (flickr), these are perfect for blogging. Just be sure you know what the usage rights are to whatever images you end up finding.

sxu.hu, you sh'ld try out. I can see it's highly recommended here
by warriors. I get some pixs from there sometimes.

I always start with http://www.morguefile.com as they have the most liberal usage license of anyone, no attribution, use for business, etc.

www.Flickr.com probably has the best pics, but it's tough to find any that don't require at least attribution.

Here's a list I was given. Not checked them all out myself as yet but they all offer some sort of free image service even if by commons licence or attribution/linkage.
