Videos In WSO Sales Pages

I have a question about using videos in WSO sale pages.

I'm releasing a WSO soon, and there will be a couple of videos that will be used to demo. the product.

The problem is that if I embed the videos directly into forum, I'm only allowed the one player size , which is about 430 x 390.

At that size though, you can't see the details of what being shown in the video.

I can't enlarge the player, and so the only option is to click the 'YouTube' link and watch the demo it in a larger format on YT

My other option is to just have a link to the video on the forum sales pages. That link will take people to a page on my site where they can view the demo full size.

So my dilemma is this..

1...Trying to watch the small format video directly from the forum page would be a waste of time for the viewer, and I'm sure it would potentially hurt sales.

2...But taking the viewer away from the sales page on the forum to watch the video on my site, may also have a negative impact on sales, but at least they will have seen the product demo.

What route would you take?

Can you zoom in to the relevant pages?

Like writeaway suggests...can you zoom in in the video?

If not, you may have to be like "Click here for video demonstration"

You can't expect people to zoom in, that's not an option.

Glen, unless they decide to do something about the default video size (which I personally think is long overdue), I would probably put the Youtube version inside your post and then have a link beneath it for those who want to click over and watch a larger version. If you do take them to an external page to watch the video, you might want to include a link beneath the video that says 'Click Here to Return to WSO' or something like that. I know videos will be opened in a new window when clicked on from Warrior Forum but this just makes it even more likely the person will return to your thread after watching the video.

But having to send people to an external site is definitely not ideal and I hope they change this sooner rather than later.

      I agree with Will.

The forum is the way it is, it makes it difficult to watch YouTube vids in a thread.

I am just one guy, but I always click on the "Watch on YouTube" button when I see WSO sales videos - especially if it is for a software or some demonstration type of video.

I don't know what others do...but if you're worried about it, put a note below the video telling them to click on that button to get the full effect of the video.

I don't think you'll see too much leakage. If the video does it's job and really sshows what the product can do...people won't go anywhere, except back to the salespage to click BUY.

I think if you are sending people to a page on your own website that has the larger video embedded in it, that's one thing. But I think if people are clicking through to Youtube to watch it then you have a much bigger chance of leakage. We all know how easy it is for people to get lost in Youtube. All it takes is clicking on one video in the sidebar and before you know it they have been on Youtube for 20 minutes and lost all interest in your product. I know because I have done this plenty of times myself.

      Thanks Will,

And I agree, no one will be bothered to 'zoom'. People are too lazy to do that!

And your idea about have both a YT video and a link out to an external page, was something I didn't think of.

I have set up an order button under the video on the external page though

Last week I did send through a request to Admin to look into allowing a larger size YT players. I'm not expecting anything to happen though.

It's just a matter of keeping at them I suppose

        Sounds good Glen.

Since you mentioned placing an order button though I just want to point out the fact that if you are using a service like JVZoo or Warrior Plus they do generally take their stats from the load of the order button image. This means if you have people visit your WSO salespage and then an external sales page, and both of those pages have the order button on them, that will be two visits instead of one so your stats won't look as good for potential affiliates.

If you are not using one of those services then you don't need to worry. If you are using one of those services then just use a text link or your own order button image on your external site and link it to the correct order url. That will eliminate the tracking issue.

          Thanks again Will.

Because this is software product, there is an integrated user management / security system, that functions around the payment gateway.

That handles all the user registrations and the database of users.

So for that reason I can't use JVZ or W+ because they can't handle that backend registration functionality within their platforms.

But I understand what you're saying...

    Hello GlenH,

If the video shows the product's benefits to them enough, the majority of them will return to the Forum. Still, as Will said, you could put a link below the video to tell them to click this link to return to the WSO (either via that window or closing the YouTube video window and returning to the WSO thread window) - this should help to make sure that the viewer returns back to the thread to purchase your product.

I would think that the WF would be considering the option of enlarging the YouTube video player within the Forum, especially as important as video marketing is nowadays.

    Take care,

    The other way round is.

Extract the details of your targets audience as many as you to find the hot button.
Get your your sale page written on value based.
As the classic saying 'the more you tell, the more you sell'.

I could be wrong on this...just sayin

Huh? I have no idea what you are referring to here...

I'm not sure how this relates to the question being asked.

        Sorry.

I mean... Instead of using videos and dealing with the mumbo jumbo of the technical stuffs just using text base of SP.

If still insist, he may redirect leads from ads to his off forum video base SP ... Just sayin...

Yes, unfortunately most software programs and tools are much better displayed in a demonstration video rather than just plain text though.

Yes. I agree with you. Seems that he has to follow the forum default setting.

        I mean, for forum launch
        Use text base SP.

SCale it up to off forum launch.
Redirect potential leads for paid aids
        To your video base SP.

it will be useful to the list owners who will their leads directly to your SP video not forum SP, if you insist that way...

Same here. I would definitely agree with Will.
Just have a link under the video saying "Click here to see the larger version of the video".
In that way, people will be aware that the default video embeded in the WSO is a smaller version.
