Requests for sample sites in Complete Web Sites For Sale!

Sorry if this has been asked before but does anyone know why in the warrior forum Complete Web Sites For Sale! 99.9% of the posts are warriors asking for a sample site. Seriously, there is one sales page and then hundreds of posts asking for a sample. Why doesn't the op just include a demo site on the sales page. Are they hiding something, is this a sales gimmick, or is there some rule that prohibits them from linking to their demo site. I find it very frustrating reading pages of "send me a sample page too" posts just to find none to just a couple of reviews.

I never understood that either. Any WSO that I offer that includes a website includes (at a minimum) a screenshot of what the sites look like. The last thing I want to do is have to answer 100 PMs.

I can only assume it has something to do with making the thread look popular maybe??

I've seen a lot of this on the forum where people ask you to PM for more details. In regards to websites for sale I would guess it's a matter of protecting their product and code. If you just link to a website then people could go and copy code or parts of the website if they were that way inclined. By making people PM you, you are putting an extra step into the process and also preventing visitors from seeing or accessing your site.

I guess that makes sense. That's why I just post a screengrab of a sample site or two.

I often ask the same question and I am looking forward in hearing an answer. It only takes posting one demo site and then we can really start getting into the reviews of the product that/site being offered. Instead the thread is over taken by the same question instead of people who has bought and or have thoughts on the sites being offered.

Post one demo site, something that wont give away to much if anything of what you do but at least what we can expect to get in the end if we where interested in the the product.

I completely agree with you ... its so frustrating to see the "send me samples please" message ...
If people are afraid that their design got copied, they can put put some screenshots. As far as i see it, its just a way to increase the posts on a WSO.
Also i think one can lose a lot of clients this way. Nobody has time nowadays to wait for the pms and see samples .. you dont find samples you move on to other service providers ... atleast i wont be waiting for a pm from the OP to send me the samples and if i dont like it then its a complete waste of my time ....

I always link to demos. Never understood why they don't and make people pm them. I sure don't want a million pms to have to answer.

Once you have some people rip off your source code and go and start selling it elsewhere, you'll understand why some are reluctant to post live demo's. It happens. I've had it happen a few times to me.

I guess it depends exactly what type of site or template you are selling.

The majority are wordpress templates, so it's not as easy as just ripping off the source code of a page. Plus, it's just as easy to just pm them to get the demos as it is to get them from the listing. Nothing will prevent theft of your work when people are determined to steal it. If you're selling plr sites, real customers want to see a demo of the site first.

You cannot bump your thread for free. Posting in a paid thread does NOT bump it. Only payment bumps it. The paid advertising threads do not bump from posting.
