Are there any FREE online courses to learn little HTML that are really good?

Hello Warriors, This is the best place to ask questions and learn.

In the journey of going from where I am in my IM business to where I want to be, I prefer to learn the basic skills that are essential to launch my business.

I also want to spend little money now and learn to do the hard way instead of preferring to buy a quick solution.

I want to learn basic HTML programming. Can you suggest me courses to take to learn HTML?

Also, if I learn to install Wordpress, still HTML knowledge is required, correct?

Regards,
Peter.

  • Back in high school, I learned alot from HTML Goodies: The Ultimate HTML Resource (non affiliate link).

I still go back to them to this day.

  • I am a terrible book learner. When I learned HTML back in the mid-90's, I did it by building something in Frontpage (yeah, it was a REALLY long time ago) and then deconstructing the code until I understood what was going on.

Wordpress (and PHP in general) have really decimated the value of knowing HTML, but I say go for it anyway. It never hurts to understand your business a little better.

    • HTML is still very essential for almost every part of web development, especially wordpress.

I can't even begin to fathom how many wordpress posts and PHP includes I had to fix to my specifications using HTML.
  • Hello Peter,

Certainly, knowing how to edit HTML can be useful if a software program (such as an HTML editor) doesn't do what you expect it to do and you need to edit some code when the editor automatically inserts code into the HTML that is causing the problem or action you don't want done. Not to mention editing links to have your affiliate IDs and such on various Web pages.

    Take care,

    Joe

(rmolina88 - I recognize HTML Goodies - one of the earliest sites I know of for providing HTML knowledge).

    • Yeah agree W3 schools is both awesome and easy to use.

Dont expect to get hired by a tech company or web company just by saying you are self taught. Unless of course you are brilliant.

  • As many others have already said, w3schools is a great place to start for someone who doesn't plan on getting too serious about HTML and that sort of thing.
