Anybody Ever Hear of Devbootcamp.com?

INTERNET MARKETING

Has anyone ever heard of this new ruby on rails "boot camp" school? Is this some kind of marketing ploy? $12000 for 9 weeks of training. What do you think?

Try this instead. It's free, wonderful and totally legit. It might not be as complete as this boot camp (if the programme is real) but it's free and a great start. IMO I'd buy some books, and find free things like Codecademy instead. That progamme looks VERY expensive. It's something I personally could never afford, especially since it's a long shot. I think, trust your instincts, it could be legit but it also, if it is legit, will require some real work! Good luck

what? you can get coaching from zend for like $900.

I went through there basic level which is pretty good, alternatively lynda.com has a good ruby course.

From what I hear DevBootcamp is legit. They are out in California, but makes it hard for anyone on the East Coast of the U.S. to migrate out there to take their skills to the next level.

There's a new South Florida based coding camp called WynCode. They offer about the the same options except they focus on popular Ruby Rails and iOS develpment.

If you are looking to learn some sick skills in building web applications on the fly, I would check them out if Udemy Academy or Treehouse is not enough for you to pick up open source languages.

Becoming a web developer takes a couple of years, and helps if you are pretty good with math too. Like most other things in life, it is what you choose to improve on a consistent basis that will get you results.

I don't know anything about that service, but you should definitely check their background before investing in anything like that (check their online reviews, check some review websites etc.).
