Should I start list building and promote other people products?

Hi Warriors,

I want to start my first online business, build a list of people that interesting in specific niche like weight loss and promote ClickBank products.
Can I do it?
Is it dead?
What do you think about it?
Where should I start?
Is $500 enough to start build my list?

Thank you Warriors !

It's certainly not dead, it's a great game plan!

Don't be convinced this is an overnight success thing, though - list-building is the right path, but it takes time, and you have to add time to build relationships with your list for long-term success.

And, don't buy a ton of tools that offer the world - it's the knowledge of how the business works that you need, not a magic pill or magic button. Find a good mentor and spend your money wisely.

Greg pretty much hit the nail on the head.

It's a great way to make money online; however, it's not easy.

It will take a lot of time and work to build that relationship.

As for $500 being enough. It depends on what you already know/how much time you're willing to dedicate.

If you know how to make highly converting opt-in pages, then great...if not, you'll either have to pay for it, or spend time learning how to.

You'll also need hosting (more than likely), a domain, autoresponder, advertising, etc.

$500 is probably plenty to get started, and as you start to make money, you can re-invest.

It just depends how you spend it.

list building is the hardest part but once you got every thing on track and you have plenty of people on your list then you can make money every time you send offer to your list.

I second that, the more you do something and keep at it the better you'll get. A lot of people get into doing something, don't see the immediate benefits and just stop. Don't do that. Keep pressing forward in whatever way you decide to go about it.

If list building was dead a lot of us warriors wouldn't be making a living or cashing in on affiliate sales. As far as money goes, I started without having a dime. So with $500 you can get a nice solid foundation to function off of. Just make sure you know what niche you're after. I'd try narrowing down the whole weight loss thing to a specific aspect of weight loss.

    Ummmm....ya!

    It's called...marketing information online!

Of course it's not dead, perhaps becoming more competitive, but that just tells you that there is money being made.

The key is to drill into a niche (like weight loss for example) and follow these 3 key principles:

    1. Find urgent challenges and desires - the more emotionally charged, the better
    2. Be specific in terms of the PROBLEM or DESIRE people are focused on...Ex. not usually weight loss generally, but more likely to be "losing my belly fat" or "stop gaining weight after 40" - those types of pin-point desires really hit the mark.
    3. Market your #ss off. You need to get into your prospect's mind, then reach out to them, connect with them and pull them back toward your solution (in the case you talk about, your solution in terms of incentive to get them to sign on as a subscriber and then your affiliate product creator's solution when you market them existing products)

Building a list around a market that desires information to help them achieve their desires is one of the best ways to grow your profits online.

It is a good path to earn money, Building a list is a great way to start.

      You need these components,

      1. An irresistible offer --> the product you pick from clickbank
      2. Need a Squeeze page to get leads in
      3. Must have a email series to send out before you promote any product/service
      4. Traffic

Do your research and find out what product you are going to promote. Have basic resources like hosting, A good domain and Autoresponder (email database service).

Write a compelling copy to your squeeze page and set up the system then start getting traffic. You can make more money if you build your list right. Be aware that there is a learning curve and if you plan to build a list, stick with it, just do that (focus) and improve over time. You can earn more than you think

List building is certainly not dead! If it was....I'd have to start looking for a full time job! lol

$500 is a good amount to get started with... You can use this amount to perhaps buy some solo ads in your niche (though i tend to stay away from solo ads myself). You could pay someone to promote your site on, say, fiverr..(i.e. write articles on your niche with the link to your opt-in box.. and have these submitted to the top article directories). You may also use this amount for a PPC campaign targeted to your target market.. There's loads of options.

Building a list is important, but even more important is creating and maintaining a relationship with your subscribers. Make sure you're providing quality content in each of your follow ups & not just bombarding them with sales pitches - or they'll unsubscribe!

You could certainly direct your subscribers to various clickbank products & insert your affiliate link in your follow-up emails... Just make sure that you're offering quality content, helpful hints first....you then follow on by recommending certain clickbank products that's relevant to that email message.. (i.e. if your email contains tips on how to get a six pack, then follow up by recommending a click bank product which focuses on getting a six pack....)

Yes, you should definitely start building an email list. The key though is to provide them with value first and then promote a product that is related to what they are interested in.

$500 is more than enough to get started seeing as you only need an autoresponder (I'm pretty sure Aweber is $1 for the first month, a squeeze page (this could be free if you build it yourself, and then traffic (probably this will be what you spend the majority of your budget on).

    Hope that helps.
    Thanks

it is not dead , it is still one of the hottest niche
As my fellow warriors said it will take some time , to build your list and see results.

The most important thing , you promote products you have bought ,
learn the Free & paid ads to build your list.

Solo ads is a good start for paid ads , but you need free report to offer , in order for them to opt in .

    Good luck

Hey nadal do solo ads really work for you? I started thinking a while ago if people are just buying solo ads to give people free products aren't these same people going to be tons of lists. Isn't that a bit of a problem down the road?

I don't know. I hope so. The fact that your very first question about it was about list-building speaks highly of your chances. If I had a dollar for all the people who've tried and failed to do this without list-building, I wouldn't have to work at all.

    • I find this forum pretty useful! I mean, I've been recently looking into trying to make money this way too. How long do people find it takes to set up a legit squeeze page and promote a product. I guess what I don't understand, is how people get their squeeze page any vistors. Like how to you get a squeeze page to rank. Can anyone shed light on that for me?

You will get benefit from not how big is your list but how targetted it is. At the beginning it is a good idea to use your list to sell other products/affiliates but also work on to introduce your own product to get the more out of your list.

Building a list is one of the best things that you can do for your business. Without a list, i'm not even sure if you have a business... this is especially true if you're not marketing to backend customers. I believe you can sell anything with an email list. Start building up your list today.

My list is still very small - around 6K - and I do well online. Think of how you will serve the people in your niche, choose affiliate offers that will help them to achieve their goals, and then connect with others in your niche. Creating a product they could use as a bonus is an excellent way to show your expertise and provide value to your niche.

I could never promote other peoples products. But thats just me.

I would hate to put all my time into building up real estate online, to promote something that someone else owns. The whole idea makes me really paranoid.

Anything I promote, I need the full ability to monetize on my own.

I do this because I believe its more stable, and I also believe its "easier" in the long run. But thats just me.

Interesting....It does take an extra bit of work making the product and then you have to make the site that sells it. If you start with a product already made, you get less money per sale but you still don't have to put in that work. But yah more control and you know what you're getting when you make it yourself.

I myself tried selling clickbank products without capturing emails and building a list I made a little money here and there but what you really want is a residual income or build up a huge list which takes a lot of time and money and promote products to your list I myself like a residual income this way you have a rough idea how much money you have coming in every month

List building is definitely a strong way to get started. Instead of just focusing entirely on promoting a Clickbank product, an approach that has worked for me in the past is using short reports, usually sold around $7. Then use the Clickbank products as an upsell or pitch the related Clickbank product in your email followup campaign. The short reports help you create your own buyer list and also helps fund your marketing.

I will not reinvent the wheels as I will simply follow the system that has work for many other people. That's a great game plan you have and you will want to take action as fast as possible. You will want to start building your list as soon as possible as that is the way to go forward.
