The Mike Geary Interview Every Newcomer Should Read

Hey Guys,

I found this interview with Mike Geary of truthaboutabs and I think it will be super helpful and inspirational, especially if you are just starting out. He banks $1 Million a month now, but in this interview from a couple years ago he talks about the REALITY of his startup process.

There's a few interviews with IM superstars like Geary out there, many of them focusing on their current success: screw that. That can make you starry eyed dreaming of overnight millions and an easy mark for the false promises of push button cash we are all so familiar with.

This interview is gold; it's a reminder that anyone who builds long term wealth online has to actually build something over time, and that it takes a lot of adjustment, but it IS possible.

    Great find.

Mike Geary also did a great interview about his business (I mean muse) with Tim Ferris at The Four Hour Work Week in 2011.

Mike Geary is the perfect example of how a garbage product can sell if you market it right. I've read his book (didn't buy it, of course) and it's categorical garbage. In fact, if you go to his page, he is pretending to do 2 exercises, "deadlift" and "overhead squat", and he does them with wrong technique LOL He's pretending to do an overhead squat to impress the audience as if he knows his stuff, but he can't even do 135lbs overhead squat right; you going to trust a guy like that that hardly looks like he lifts?

I'm a fitness enthusiast (as in, I research the fuark out of stuff) and everyone in the serious fitness circle laughs at Mike Geary and his product. However, and this is important, he's banking it, so learn from what he's done 'cos he's the proof that garbage can be sold.

Well he's making millions of dollars per year.

What's a typical fitness expert earn?

      Who's really the one laughing?

There are plenty of personal trainers who don't know their stuff as well. I have seen many of them. So would you rather waste money on an ebook and get bad advice or on an expensive personal trainer and get the same bad advice?

Or you can go to a fitness forum and read a few articles and buy a proper book. That's what I did and 2 years later I was deadlifting 3x bodyweight and could overhead squats over 250lbs; I can assure you Mike Geary would poop his spine out trying to do what I did from reading one single book (from the '70s) and interacting on a forum with guys who were keen to help.

You are wrong if you think it's either grabbing a garbage product like Mike Geary or choosing a personal trainer LOL Dude, look beyond; six packs and fitness is easy: pick a weight, lif it, put it down, do so some running and eat less crap: do it for 2-3 years consistently and you're done.

Also, many fitness experts rely on their body to give the illusion of being experts; coincidentally, many of these pseudo gurus are balding and keep their hair short. Use of anabolic steroids destroys your hairline, especially those to keep you lean year round. Another example is Mike Chang, who looks all bloated in many of his videos and the guy is weak as hell (could only do 12 reps with 45lbs , that's my warm up).

There's so much lying, deceiving and scamming in the fitness industry (including Mike Geary's crap) that I gave up long time ago. These days I browsea few forums and help a kid here and there, but the amount of utter lying and use of steroids to give an illusion of expertise is disgusting.

I tell you this. I could pick you up and in 4 months you'd be another Mike Geary. The trick? It starts with testos- and ends in -terone. Add some HGH, trenbolone and increase T3 to 100mgc every day if you are over 14%.

The above formula is what WORKS in the fitness industry. Forget about isolating whatever it is or doing the stupid workouts that you see of people grunting without even knowing what they do. It's the steroids (aka sauce) that does it. Google "Zyzz" and see the transformations of the kids in his "crew"; they went from overweight or skinny to impressive physiques in less than a year; they were all running the above formula.

So there, point is: go on a forum and read a few articles; hit the gym and do it for 3 years. Absolutely no need for smiling personal trainers or garbage books (well, more like a horrid PDF).

You are spot on. The fitness industry is no different to psychics or mediums. They basically just tell people what they already know. Everyone knows that to lose weight you move more and eat less. But people pay hundreds and thousands of dollars to be told this. It's quite funny when you think about it. The amount of money that is spent on fitness products when everybody already knows the answer.

Absolutely, that's why I gave up long time ago. There are "underground" circles, so to speak, where people talk the talk and walk the walk; those who use steroids will tell you and say I got huge by busting my balls for 5 years and then taking some steroids; this is absolutely cool and I personally do not judge those who go on the sauce (I've been offered juice/sauce over the years but decided to stay natty, it just took me longer).

The problem (and they people I abhor) are those who take steroids while going to the gym for a year straight and then claim it's their training program or magic formula that did it. Believe it or not, steroids will make up for one's lack of training and/or knowledge and are the "magic" supplement: they really work if taken in big amounts like most Internet kids take these days).

The above is why many"experts" (cough, Mike Geary, cough, Mike Chang) are rumored to touch specific "substances" to keep the leanness and/or mass despite their pitiful training and lack of training knowledge. They haven't admitted it, but this is a well known fact in the underground circles with people who are on the sauce and make a living out of it. Plus Mike Geary is bald already and Mike Chang looks bloated and is known to deceive people with his transformations (for which he got his YT account banned once). He has also been called out, but, like the good Internet Marketer that he is, he doesn't give a crap and just increases his Adwords account to blast Youtube like a boss every time the rumour spreads.

I used to feel like punching the screen every time I saw a Mike Chang ad on an Adsense banner; nowadays I just don't look and pass it off. In fact, those of us who are in parallel niches can learn quite a bit from him and Mike Geary, so I do credit them for that (as much as I abhor their deceiving).

I honestly didn't know 'Truth About Abs' was a hardcore bodybuilding product for people who wanted to get huge.

That Mike Geary is falsely advertising his product and I'm not amused.

I honestly didn't know I needed a crappy PDF product (which is a sales funnel) from a guy who can't even perform exercises correctly to know the truth about getting six pack abs.

That Mike Geary is a con man and knows f*ck all about getting an out of shape dude into shape and with a six pack. I'm truly not happy and, because I'm a crybaby, I've written this post with a tad of irony.

Just goes to prove you don't need to be an expert doesn't it.

I expect Mike is the one laughing, he knows IM. The fitness experts don't have a clue how to market their skills.

Yep. It's a shame 'cos there are some excellent trainers and books out there who deserve the money and recognition.

Oh well, I guess it's better for those of us who like to use the Olympic barbell in the gym to do standing military presses, power clean, deadlifts, front squats etc, while the sheep idiots are there in the corner isolating their rectus and what not

That is his claimed revenues. We have no idea what he makes after traffic expenses, paying affiliates and employees. He claims to have no employees besides customer service, yet has referred to "we" when talking about critical operations. There's obviously more people involved. Possibly even investors.

Point is, there's many directions this could go and a one man show isn't pocketing $1 million a month.

Of course he has expenses - all businesses at that level have real expenses like advertising. Knowing him personally though, I can attest that he is the real deal when it comes to traffic and conversions and he really does live the lifestyle he claims.

I don't know what he makes in profit but I can tell you he's been running ads in my email newsletter every month for like the past two years. He's as honest and ethical as they come in this business.

And if there is one person you want on board for your fitness or diet launch, it's him. He's a rainmaker for sure. I've seen him kickstart new 6 and 7 figure businesses for people just from his own efforts.

    Haters gonna hate.

If you're into infoproduct marketing, he's definitely someone to study. Not hate on.

I've also seen his product (not the best). But his refund rate is actually pretty low for a CB product.

Is that what you can come up, "haters gonna hate?". Regurgitate what every sheep says so as to try to make a point? Really?

Read my very first post; Mike Geary is an excellent example of how selling a garbage product can still work provided you market it right and I credit him numerously in my posts. He's a very good (if not excellent) IMer, but he's below mediocre in terms of walking the walk and delivering a solid product. However, it is always good to know the other side of the coin when dealing with IM and sales in general; unfortunately is seems as though a couple of people here can't see that.

And $1mil/month is a lot more than "very good".

        That's your opinion.

You're stating that his product of mediocre as if it's an established fact. There are tons of people that have no clue about IM and love his stuff. And his refund rate is low enough where he's ever gotten into hot water with CB.

The one thing we DO know is that he sells a ton of his ebooks every hour of every day.

If you read my posts, I say pretty much what you've said.

And the product is mediocre at best. I'm telling you this as a guy who has studied the field and has achieved an 8 pack (not a 6 pack, an actual 8 pack; I unveiled the lower quadrant of the abdominal wall too) without touching performance enhancers. The way to a six pack is surprisingly easy, and his book does nothing but complicate the matter albeit in a poor manner. I don't share this opinion only, others who are seriously into fitness and have six packs year round (by training and dieting smartly) share the same opinion.

Mike Geary has smartly taken advantage of a concept that rules the fitness (and MMO) industry: 99% of the cases, the customer will blame himself for his failure and not the product itself. That's one of the ways of how gyms make money, for example.

Taking advantage of the above concept is what is banking him money because he was among the first who took advantage of there being no info products targeted at "abs". His case is very special and he was there at the right time and place, and, of course, he made the most of it. You can learn a lot from his case, that's for sure and what I have said quite a few times in this thread already.

          I'm done here.

This guy, may or may not have the best product, but he is one person that should for sure be studied. A few years, ago when I was looking at his site, I found his affiliate section and this guy practically gave away the farm, on how you could become a super affiliate and promote his product.

The education, he gave away in that section alone, was worth pure gold. All of us, can admire someone like him, he made $0 for his first 2 years, then made little money in 3rd year and then things started to pick up.

he had a vision, stuck with it through the good..bad..ugly and now lives a pretty comfortable life and does what he loves....

He is the true definition, of what a real entrepreneur is and kudos to him!
