Getting started again

It has been 2-3 years since I was "Active" In IM.. I did have some success, but it was just enough to buy a beer a month maybe ($5-$10 a month) would come in. Then the program shut down, and revenue ceased to come in.

I got busy with writing and other paying tasks online, but now I am wanting to get back in, fire is growing. I would almost prefer to have someone to work with so we can motivate each other. (PM me or leave a message below if so)

What I want to do is just start small, $50-$100 a month would keep me happy at start. I am looking for the best ideas or things to go though to do this.

I am open to help, suggestions, even maybe a discounted membership into a program. I'll be around this form now..I have been lurking for about 3 years and now is the time to get active.

Thanks in advance,

Scott

If you're a writer, why not start a blog?

    Gain a following.

Sell to them and/or sell ad space.

I would suggest you get into a GOOD solid coaching program that teaches you the full spectrum of IM from the ground up there are some pretty good ones around but be sure to do your due diligence.

Whatever your niche is, try building a list of subscribers whom you can promote affiliate offers. This way even if the product or service you are promoting shuts down, you still have a list of subscribers (an asset) and you can promote other similar products or services to them. In business, people should always try to focus on maximizing assets and minimizing liabilities.

    Info marketing biz model:

    1. Choose a niche.
    2. Research problems and competitors solutions.
    3. Create your own solution. Be it an ebook, an audio video software or whatever... just create something.
    4. Get those people as your subscribers.
    5. Sell sell and sell through email marketing.

Too much to teach but there are some really good coaches if you look around. And this biz model is what most IMers do these days.

    I suggest building a website
    Adding some content
    Monotizing it
Doing some SEO to get it ranked

Use low competition long tail keywords to bring in a few sales a month or some adsense income

    Then expand it from there

Hope that helps and welcome back to IM!

I also would suggest getting your own website set up which you can add value to over time.
Build up a steady following of subscribers to an email opt-in list by solving problems in your chosen niche. Build up some authority in that chosen niche and then market to your list.
Its hard work but rewarding when it starts to pay off.

      Thanks again,

I do have a website.. a blog on how to save money, but I haven't kept up on it for awhile.

But with Adsense I have been making about $1 a month from the ads, though the other affiliate links have been near zero.

        Hi Scott!

You have the interest of generating income. That is a good start, you need to write out a simple plan first.

It is simply where are you now and where you want to be in the future (your goal/monetory in this case)

There several paths to take, a) Affiliate marketing b) Buiding an email subscription list c) product cretion.

You may need to check your abilities in each of these areas and find what you are passionate about. This is the first step and decide what is the best option for you at the time.

Example: if you are good in wrting, a blog may be a good start. If you are intrested in reviewing and promoting info products, affiliate marketing will be good. Are you an expert in any area that you can make an info product, then product creation will be ideal. List building is part of each and every methods mentioned above, usually highlight it because it is significant.

Your aim should be taking actions daily basis.

Have a budget and a time schedule if you want to see progress over time.

        Check your interests and start.

You could always hire someone to post on it for you?

I suggest doing what you are doing now thats generating you $1 per month might not seem like much but get 200 of these sites up and running and you will be making a steady income from it.

They say making the first $1 is the hardest part

Scott - is writing something you enjoy and want to keep doing?

What type of writing are you good at/enjoy? Fiction/non-fiction, long-form, short articles, etc...?

In terms of partners, what are you really looking for in terms of "sharing" and structure - be specific and perhaps you will get some juices flowing.
