Email Marketing Conversion Rates

Hi all, so i'm creating my marketing plan for the next months for a new TRAVEL project. Writing down possible numbers etc. I have 2 questions:

1) Assuming i'm targeting the right people and offering the right free gift for sign ups with the proper squeeze page/ content. What percentage of sign ups should i expect in this scenario? (remember, assuming everything is done right).

2) Again, assuming i build a good relationship with my list and offer great, relevant, free content. What CTR (traffic from email to the site, not sales) should i expect?

I have experience in other fields, but completely new to email marketing. Thank you so much for taking time to read this thread.

    0% - 100%.

The only way to find out is to test.

It's hard to say. You're going to have to split test. But if you're targeting correctly, and indeed you're free offer is really good, you should easily get high conversion on the squeeze page. Without seeing your squeeze and offer, it's hard to calculate, and still hard with all the specifics.

I suggest, you just throw it up and test. Take action.

Me personally, I ensure my offer is just too good to pass up for the people I'm targeting, so I see consistent over 40% optins and after split testing and getting feedback, I then add to my offer to get optins up over 50%

Depending on the what my email campaign is going to be, I can usually get about a 11 - 18% open rate and about 2 - 4% CTR. On one of my campaigns, I get much higher on both.

Sorry, that's the best I can give you, or anyone I think.

Run it, test, and then when you got numbers, you can get help raising them.

  • Your questions are valid and you may receive some expert guesstimates, however as RogueOne mentioned above, "The only way to find out is to test. ". You see, you can have "the proper squeeze page/ content" and "good relationship" and "great, relevant, free content", but in reality there are many factors that can affect your conversion rates and click through rates, and since you are looking for a ballpark figure, again as mentioned by RogueOne, "0% - 100%" is as close as you are going to get to a realistic answer. lanew also mentioned his personal results, and I could also give you our 40 to 50% optin conversion rate for one of our extremely targeted optin pages but again, you'll need to test and adjust your own setup.

I hear this a lot from clients.

This is what I tell them.

Listen, if whatever you have is the magic bullet. Whether that be the product, service, giveaway or even the copy your using. It's only as good as the rest of the gun and where your aiming it.

It all comes down to the whole package, not just one thing. And it relies on testing.

In the beginning you should not expect too much, but a certain percentage will open your messages and click on your links.

Email marketing is complicated. The subject line is important, your messages must be interesting; many other details play an important role for your success.

You should study this matter if you want to have positive results. You will find many interesting lessons online, and also here at the WF.

You will never knew how quality the list you collect from until you test the blast on it . Because when you meet them , they sound interest with your product but at the end might looking for others thing.

Percentage of CTR usually need higher than conversion rate.
Let said CTR might be 10% - 20 % which is really high if you are the 1st blast.
    You get the conversion rate might be 3 % - 5 % it .

You might get higher if all is real interest with your product , but 1st trial usually do have high CTR but low conversion rate.
Then here you need come with plan how to increase the CTR and Conversion Rate for the next blast.

I don't offer free gifts. Offer information instead. This is called a reverse squeeze. Try it Less 'list riders'?

Its fully depend on your traffic that it is targeted niche based traffic or just junk traffic.
