Sell Dream or Reality?

Dear Warriors,

Before I start to write my sales funnel I would like to know a very important factor that can determine success or loss. I learnt that in IM niche the crowd wants to make money online by working as little as humanly possible. This is what an ideal customer in IM niche wants. The bad news is that this is not true because you have to work really hard to accomplish something in IM.

Now my question is:

Is it better to give them what they want (the dream that making money online is easy) or to be realistic with them?

Thank you,
Zourkas

In my opinion, you should tell them the reality. This is good for long term.

Definetly the reality for long term. There has been soooo many fast cash guys here on the forum over the years that sell the dream and disappear and get a bad rep for it. Many a warrior I will never buy from again because of this. But others I will hit the buy button straight away because they are fair dinkum and shoot straight. Just my 2 cents worth

PS the fast cah guys are probably lining up right now for their soup at the shelter.

Be realistic for sure. A true and ethical marketer will go a lot further and be around a lot longer in my opinion.

      Nobody likes to be had.

You will be looking to build trust with your potential clients. Therefore tell them the truth.... That making money online is possible. And while it may not necessarily be easy, it is definitely achievable. And then you may lay down the process by which they could follow to be successful.

You will achieve your sales, as well as make your clients happy and begin to establish trust with them.

This is not only true to IM but also in other parts of our life. People want to lose weight quick and easy. People who are sick want to get cured in an instant. So, tell people the truth and educate them in achieving their goal to make money online slow and steady. You may not get tons of people lining up to hear the truth, but I am sure you will get quality people and you will be happy in the long run.

Maybe this might answer your question ... "Give them what they want but ALSO what they need"
-> Give Them What They Want But Also What They Need

It's a fine balance of both...

Tell them the reality, but paint them a picture of the potential of your product and what it can do for them.

You already know it doesn't exist, so you're not really giving them what they want. You're selling something that doesn't exist, which isn't really ethical, is it?

I used to work for a guy who was good at selling dreams, and he made a lot of money doing it, but he also had a high refund rate - way above normal - because when those people finally woke up from the dream and saw the reality for themselves, he went from being seen as a genius to a scammer. They quit him, I quit him, others quit him...but he still does it and still makes a lot of money from newbies.

The real truth is no one buys into reality. You have to sell them the dream, the results.

The only reason they are looking into any product is because they want the results not the reality of "this product might not work for you" or "the disadvantages of this product are x,y & z".

In fairness, that's not much of a dream.

    Making money online is easy....

    ...when you know how.

....and your product should make it easy.

This isn't strictly true. There are people who have made a lot of money in IM without working hard. Maybe they've struck lucky, maybe they have the right connections, maybe they had a good business plan and outsource the work.

Those people just aren't the norm.

If someone who makes money that way sells the recipe that they've used as 'quick, easy money' they aren't selling the dream, they're being honest.

However there are some dishonest markets sell 'quick, easy money' products too. Some haven't even made a dime online. These marketers are thinking short term and running the risk of being exposed.

If the methods that you teach require hard work then you should be honest about it. You can always use the angle 'if it sounds too good it usually is' in your sales page.

In the long run, honesty will prevail.

    Best wishes,

Be up front...great sales is taking that approach and getting them excited and what you can do for them today! You want to help with a problem...and you are the solution!
Too many have "smoke & mirrors" approach and sell junk products and really stretch the truth

Sell them what they want but give them what they need.

I don't mean lie when I say sell them what they want, but tell the truth attractively.
