haha I was about to say the same thing. I have a video that continually produces traffic just by having a link right at the beginning of the video description. I suppose video annotations could help as well?

Put it on the second line. You don't want your description starting with a link. YouTube will "No-follow it" but hey ..

Youtube is great for traffic. It is the second largest search engine in the world.
Learn some basic SEO and keyword optimize yor video.
Embed on as much (niche related) websites as possible. Share on facebook,twitter and other social media.
Have a catchy description provided with a link.
Just remember,you can try to generate millions of visitors if you have the ability,but if your video is crap they won`t click your link.

Write a short description and then put a link in the description box. Super simple. You can use bitly to shorten URLs.
