Is it a bad idea to link all of my affiliate sites to one another?

I have about 25 sites up now, all running on Word Press using Affiliate Theme (gotta check this out) it is great!

My question is, would it be beneficial to have all of my affiliate sites link to one another from an SEO standpoint? Some are related to one another, others are not.

Should I put all of my sites into the blogrolls or not?

Thanks

Linking your sites together is part of interlinking.. There is nothing wrong with doing this as it will help increase your backlinks and thus ranking.

Are you getting any traffic to all of these sites?

Linking them together would mean that if a person came to one site - potentially they may have interest in another one of your topics and then visit that site.

I would add them all to MyBlogLog for some instant traffic.

I am just getting started with the theme... .The thing is it is incredibly versatile. I can very easily change the layouts to virtually any type of layout.

It's like a theme you can change to look however you like. It has a ton of great features geared specifically toward the affiliate marketer.

Don't use my sites to judge, I have a lot of work to do on them still. Just wanted to get them up and ranked while I get the look where I want it.

thanks for the affiliate theme idea, I think having a network of sites linked is a good thing, as long as there on different ip's.

It is now just a different IP address you need second half to be different for best effect.

        123.456.678.123
        123.456.678.124

is probable the same host in googles eyes

Are you saying the two above are considered the same host by Google? If any of my ip's are different it is only with the last digit as above. So.....I need to pay up the 2$ a month and get completely unique ip's right?

          This is good to know.....

I have been having problems with a few sites that share or shared (removed opt in for now) an opt in for and to Google it must have appeared as interlinking....

My how to build a windmill site got slapped down from #6 to around page 200 recently This happened as soon as the 3 other sites that used the opt in got picked up by Google in their backlinks.

I have suspected this is why......

            Christian,
You are interlinking your sites, your IP is not going to matter.. If it did my sites would all be kicked out of google but guess what .. Nope I dominate front page listings with the "SAME" ip but different sites.

If you feel the need to use different ip's then that is fine but for what you are doing it is not needed...

You do need to be careful that the content is not the same ...

OK I am getting some conflicting information here....

If you read my post above yours I did have a big slap for a site recently because the sites shared an opt in I have to assume this is why as it is the only site that got slapped....and slapped HARD....

I do not think the ip was the issue... I have several dedicated servers, yes I run more than one server but on just one there is about 500 websites many of them interlinking and using the same IP ... I have other ips to use but I mainly only use a different ip when I install a SSL.

I have had these sites for years and not once have I had any trouble from google ... So what I am posting is based on my experience. This is why I also said if you feel the need to use different ip's then that is fine..

Arg, I was hoping that was it... I have removed the shared opt in as I got slapped as soon as the big G saw the connection. I will have to wait a week or 3 until the back links update to see if I get 'un slapped'

Something strange is going on with that site and I can't put a finger on it just yet.

OK after a quick call to support you can assign a unique ip for an extra 2$ per month per ip address...
    Visit
    https://secure.hostgator.com/resellerip.php

To do this if you have Host Gator reseller hosting for your sites.

One other point, if you start doing well with affiliate sales and some other affs want to copy your sites, then if you link them all together you are making it very easy for everyone to see exactly what you're promoting.

    Just a thought...

In the old days I linked all my sites together... but now I've heard that Google doesn't like it, so I don't do it anymore.

    Hi Christian

I suggest linking all your "same topic" sites together. For example, all your sites related to internet marketing could like to each other, all your health sites could link to each other, but don't link your internet marketing sites with your health sites.

    Enjoy your day!
    Terry
