Just a little confused about adding a signature in my profile. Don't want to do anything wrong.
The new member rules say that don't put affiliate links in your signature.

But when I click the signature of a few people,they do take me to some offers?
For eg. I saw a few signatures with their flippa sites for sale, and other with some WSO for sale.

What am I missing here?

    I think possibly the fact that "offers" and "affiliate links" aren't the same? Sig-file links should be to your site, not to someone else's. (There are a couple of exceptions to that, such as Blogspot subdomains, and so on. You can link to your blog there without being obliged to own Blogspot).

    You can link to your own WSO's/WFH's/Classifieds here.

    It's ok to link directly to the sales page of something you're selling, as long as you're not selling it as an affiliate.

    You can link to your own blog/site on which you have a review of something, which contains an affiliate link.

    You can link to your own squeeze page, on your own hosting, whether you're an affiliate or a vendor. But you mustn't, as an affiliate, link to a "replicated"/"company" squeeze page which the vendor has provided for you, even if you're hosting that on your own site.

    You mustn't advertise Empower Network, High Traffic Academy, or Big Idea Mastermind.

    And finally, the sig-file rules are here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...rum-rules.html

    I think that just about covers it ...

    Thanks Alexa,
    Silly of me...I thought a link was just that...a link!
    So it would be ok to add your blog or even a flippa listing to the sig?
    Also how do you make the link clickable?
    Sorry if its a silly question.

      Yes.

      I think your own Flippa listing is probably allowed; I'm not 100% sure, I must say. I suspect that isn't actually specified anywhere.

      There's a "linking" thing in the sig-file posting-box (little picture with a caption that says "Insert Link" if you hold your cursor over it)..

      Or you can use BB code ...

      [url = http://your-page-here] your-anchor-text-here [/url] (but without the spaces).

        Alexa,

        If you haven't covered all of them, you've certainly hit all the high notes. Thank you.

        To add one less common point... You are allowed to link to legitimate charities and individual aid efforts.

        Allen links to a micro-loan group. I've had a link in mine to a shelter for rescued dogs for a few months. There are many more examples.

        If you look a bit as you post or read, you'll see a lot of our members donating signature space to various charities, and also to help out individuals they know and care about. It's a long tradition here.

      To make your link clickable is easy here at the warrior forum because they use a wysiwyg editor. Simply highlight your text and then click on the image above it that has the earth with a chain around it. Simple as that to make a link.
      If there wasn't a wysiwyg editor which is quite frequently the case you have to use html code which is here:

      [=http://YOURURL.COM]YOURKEYWOR[/]

      After the first bracket put in "url" and before the last bracket put in the same. Sorry it's so confusing but when I tried to post the code it performed the action instead of leaving the code for you to read.

      Hope this helps.

      The affiliate program rule covers them. And yes, that includes the EN blogs, since those are set up to be essentially recruiting templates, unlike Squidoo lenses or Blogspot blogs, which are allowed in sigs here.
