Got Internet Marketing A.D.D? Use this...

Hey Everyone,

This isn't my product, and it is free for Mac users. It has just helped me out a lot. If you find yourself getting distracted online when you have set time aside to work, I have been using a tool called "Self Control".

You can get it at www.selfcontrolapp.com

There are probably other tools out there that do the same thing, but it basically allows you to block distracting websites like facebook for a set period of time. I usually set aside 1 hour blocks for working online, and I turn on self control so that I can only go to the sites that I am supposed to be working on.

Like I said, this isn't an affiliate product or anything. It is just a cool free tool I have been using that might help some of you out there.

I've used something like that before in the past. My productivity went up. It's all about blocking distractions.

This is a plugin I use from chrome, it helps me stay pretty productive. You basically visit sites that you want to block and set a period of time to allow yourself on those sites everyday (for example: 10 minutes). Then, when you visit any of the sites on your block list, the timer counts down. After you use up your 10 min, the browser blocks access to those sites for the remainder of the day.

Does it block apps or only web browsers?

See, since it's about self control and you still are in control of turning the app off and unblocking the sites when you want, I still think it'd come down to my own self control not to simply turn off the blocks, which would be about as easy as going to the sites without having to turn off some block first.

Though the first site I'd add to the list would be the warrior forum.

      Really it should block email!

Gonna try one of these apps. While I generally remain focused when working, I sometimes get distracted. This should help me raise my productivity even more. Thumbs up to all of you!

    Interesting!
I've had some training that tells me to keep score and not to work hard doing the wrong things for your business. I guess you need to know what are the most important things you need to get done. Then do those first.

I guess there are days like today when I'm not too sure what the best thing is to do and then next thing I know I'm spending a lot of time on the Warrior Forum.

But I guess I need to be building up relationships and meeting other marketers for partnerships and joint ventures so hopefully I'm doing the right thing today.

It is something to try your best to think about I guess, what is the most essential thing I need to get done for me and my business and do that!
