[List Building Question] Free way to Build your list to 1k

A good approach would be to use forums just like this one: Use your signature to drive traffic to your squeeze page. Make informative and helpful posts and people will click on your sig. This traffic is also highly targeted and could lead to you not only having a large list, but a responsive one as well.

a) Articles.
b) Forums.
c) Blog commenting.
d) Classified Ads.
e) Twitter & Facebook.
f) Guest Posting on Blogs.
g) Slides, Video promotion.
h) Traffic Exchanges.
i) Press Releases.
j) Give away events.

I've just listed the different ways.
Some of them may not work on all niches.

Sweepstakes/Contest marketing is the route I suggest, only if you have something relevant to give away and can target that audience. For example, don't have an e-book as your product and offer a $100 gift card for your giveaway.

One of our clients just added 5k to their email list in the course of 3 days. It is a very powerful way to build a list if done correctly.

You've just asked the holy grail of questions in the Internet Marketing world! Well, you can build a list to 1k quite easily actually. You just need to put the time in:

1. Write a well structured article which (partly) answers a question that is the most asked question in your particular niche (THIS IS IMPORTANT! It has to be something that folk in your niche WANT to read, so answer a question that everybodys asking...). Don't provide all the solution in your article... Tell them that if they want more information, then to click on your link (your optin box).
2. Convert your article to pdf file & submit to pdf directories. Also give away for free on forums & blogs & make sure you include full resale rights on the pdf so people can share with friends & family & you can exposure from them!
3. Convert to Powerpoint slides & submit to slide websites like Slideshare.com.
4 Offer insight & impart your knowledge & expertise on forums & blogs. Make sure your link is included in your signature profile.
5. Make use of "Tell a Friend" scripts! These are very powerful & i managed to reach 1k subscribers very very quickly with this! Basically send an email to your existing subscribers offering a free gift/eBook/video course if they tell a friend about your site. The script works by giving the access page to the free gift once the subscriber has submitted your URL to 4 or 5 of his/her friends.

There's loads more, but my hands are getting tired typing & i could be here all day, but hopefully you get the picture. Always go VIRAL when possible & also don't neglect the power of social media..

Create videos on youtube for keywords related to list-building and then at the end of your videos have a call to action to hit the link below which will go to your squeeze page. You can build a pretty good list up from free traffic that way and the subs are pretty targeted depending on the keywords you choose
