CRM vs autoresponder

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

I need a tool that can handle customer relationships primarily through emails. I have used Mailchimp but I don't if that is the best tool out there, I found it somewhat clunky to be honest.

The tool will be used for for an ecommerce company.

For instance what are companies like Gilt, Zappos and Fab using to send out and manage their newsletter channel?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I've found AWeber to be the best with high deliverable rates in it's price range, but InfusionSoft is much more full-featured from a CFM perspective. It does, however, come with a hefty price tag.

Many of the fortune 500 use full-blow CRMs like SalesForce.com, but that may be overkill, depending on your business.

  I forgot to mention one thing! It must be able to do A/B and or multi-variate testing.
  
  I'm not too familiar with Salesforce - but it might be a bit overkill at this stage.

I used to use AWeber but noticed that my emails weren't getting delivered as much ...then I switched to GetResponse and have noticed much better results.

  All the IM folks say swear by Aweber....I like Getresponse. it's cheaper then a aweber and i like the features that they have.

Depends on what you want to do with the CRM part.

I use aWeber for auto-responder, but there is also InfusionSoft which includes a CRM and a bunch of other goodies, includng an auto-responder. That's cool for automating the sales process, but it will cost ya!

Infusionsoft - Costly but has lots features. The best so far.
Aweber - Deliverability is good and what I usually use.
GetResponse - Decent.
