Best Way To Build Cat Email List?

Hi,

I am working in the cat training/cat lover niche. What would be the best way to build a email list in this niche? It seems very competitive. I am working on free methods right now but plan to do solo ads soon.

I think giving away a free cat for someone's email would be a great way!

But really, same way as every other niche.

Give an incentive and/or make a nice site people like and/or post on relevant forums and/or build a social media presence and/or get connected with other cat lover sites and/or get involved with local cat businesses and/or etc

Find cat questions all over the internet that don't have much competition but have lots of searches. Build reverse squeeze pages for these. Milk those lists.

I love cats and am in the catsitting business myself. And, believe me, I would not give away my email address to subscribe to a website to see funny pics and videos of cats when I can see them for free all over the internet.

You need to think creatively. Cat people LOVE their cats. So play on that. Think sweepstakes/contest for instance. Have cat owners submit pics or videos of their feline friends for a chance to win a fabulous prize. You could even build a website around this idea and select a winning photo/video each week or month. Make sure you collect an email address for each entry. And don't forget to include social media buttons. Cat owners love bragging about their furry friends so they'll be certain to share the photo(s) with their friends. With each social media share, they could even gain an additional contest entry for the month. That's just one idea...

It's so true that I've seen so many questions on the internet, especially regarding behavior problems. Put together an e-book that you can give away for free. You can use this to generate a list on practically any cat related website or blog.

Just remember to think creatively and outside of the box. Feel free to PM me if you want to brainstorm any other ideas.

I think you tube is a good place to start.I cant tell you how many times a funny cat or dog you tube video has made it to my face book page and I do usually take the time to watch it. also maybe post in pet lovers forums.Maybe you could offer a free book on how to train cats to do tricks in exchange for an opt in.

Pinterest would be a good free method. Post pics and have them link to you page.

I would some PPC... to test the niche and the squeeze page. Free marketing is good, keep doing it - it will lower your average cost to get a customer. I would also consider blog advertising, starting your own affiliate program, and advertising on Youtube (both paid and free Youtube marketing).

Any market that is profitable will be competitive. It is a good thing because it means that there is money to be make in the market. I personally will set up a squeeze page to grow my own list of subscribers and promote the products to them through the follow up.

There are many different ways to drive traffic to the website and I will stay Focus on mastering one method at a time. If you are following proven methods, just choose one and master it. You will definitely get the traffic if you have taken the right action. The issue is in testing and tweaking the campaign.

    Good luck
