Do you still like using solo ads?

Hey all

I thought I would post a quick thread about solo ads to see if you think they are still effective for building your lists because a few negative things have been going around recently. (not that i pay much attention to it all but it's still good to get some feedback from you good people)

I personally love solo ads, they are one of my favorite list building methods but you do have to test and tweak your funnels and pages in order to make your campaigns profitable.

Just wondered what you guys think and if you still like using them to build your lists?

Paul

I don't use them that much these days because I have many more cost effective and higher quality ways to build my lists but they have a time and a place.

I haven't used them enough. I want to do more with them.

I never had much luck with solos. Ended up focusing on Youtube, Google and facebook. Seem to do better. Also, I'm getting some traction with LinkedIn. Granted solos are easier if they work. I guess I just never found the right list.

Any more, I use them sparingly, especially in the IM arena. They just aren't as effective as they were a few years ago. In addition, I find it much more challenging to sort out the really good sources from those who are spamming their lists with offers several times a day. The latter lists are mostly junk at this point.

Though I haven't done a whole lot in non-IM niches, my results have been much better because solo ads and ad swaps are not as common.

I am reading a lot about how they are losing effectiveness (IM niche, not sure if it is factually true) but of course people are still making money with them, you just have to be within the right networks. Funny how gurus promote things a few years after the system has been used to make their profits

Well the wind has been blown from my sail a little bit...

My main focus right now is building my list and I was looking into taking out a solo ad to help. I found several reputable sources but now I'm thinking if I should directed my efforts elsewhere. I'm tweeting, pinteresting, youtubing, the only thing I have left is to build my facebook.

I've been at this 8 days and only have two subs, well, three others but they are all my friends that I asked to test for me.

I feel like this has been one of the most difficult things to accomplish in internet marketing.

i tried a few back in the day. i was able to build my list. however, it is still a lot of testing and tweaking that goes with it like any other traffic method. i definitely wouldnt rule them out though.

I find that i have good luck with the solo ads that i have done. I still use solo ads but have also added ppc into the mix. I would not expect a major boost in your list from one solo but over time it does work.

I still love to use Solo ads simply because you see instant results and if you have a good solo ad provider then the results are very good. Like any method you need to test but I will take solo ads over PPC any day of the week.
I have started using PPV more and more along with solo ads so these are my main 2 sources for building a list at the moment.

I have been slowly weaning off my solo ads addiction I'm leaning more towards PPC and social media. There are great solo ad providers but I did catch some sneaky providers (not on WF) sending traffic from sources that are complete garbage.

I did not like using solo ads.
I prefer to build a list through product sales.
