Today I got a unexpected shock

In the uk a mobile network has an affiliate program. So if you refer someone they will pay you a set amput for the person that joins the network.

Anyway when I first starting promoting them I had a blog that would lead people to the sign up page. After a while I decided to just directly link to the sign up page.

Now when I did that after sometime, my domain got PR3 which I was pretty happy with. Anyway I totally forgot about the domain, until I got Email that said someone just got reffered. Awesome!

Out of curosity I just check to see what my PR is atm, I nearly spat out my dinner. The domain is PR5, I need to verify it using a few other pr checkers but I'm amazed how it increased while nothing has changed.

Thinking of maybe changing it back to a blog, but real busy with another project so we will see.

The domain is 2.8 years old.

Oh well thats it.

    Giff Gaff lol?

If you've redirected the domain, it's my understanding that you get whatever the root domains PR passed onto your domain. If this is the case, then it's how people "fake their PR" and thus, your site is not actually a page rank 5.

If you decide to sell the domain or sell links, make sure you tell them about the redirection.
