Does YouTube delete accounts for botting likes/views?

I was wondering if anyone has ever been banned/deleted from YouTube for botting likes/views/thumbing comments on their channel?

    Sure.

You also get deleted for copyrighted material (despite the fact you spinned the video).

You also get deleted if someone mass flags you (great way to deal with competition).

You also get deleted for spam (200+ useless videos per account).

So what if you get your friends/subscribers to thumb up your comments on other videos, can that get you deleted?

That would be fine. Actually, it's a common tactic to have a "call to action" in your videos to tell your subscribers to like the video if they enjoyed it, leave a comment, etc. It only becomes a problem if you buy fake activity that aren't real people.

I see... And will YouTube know if there are fake accounts thumbing your comments?

If they do they probably won't do anything about it. Maybe if you get hundreds of fake likes or something, but if you just get around 10-20 it probably wouldn't be a problem. If you do it excessively though, I'm sure they have algorithms that can detect that sort of thing, but comment likes are probably low on their priority as compared to fake comments themselves.

What do you mean by useless videos? I got 300 videos in my channel, I can't promote them all at all times.

It's not common, but it can happen. The more botted activity, the more probable it is. What's more likely is that your adsense account will get banned if you have it attached to your YouTube account, since adsense is more sensitive to illegitimate activity.

Now with views, instead of your account being banned, YouTube has recently (in the last 6 months or so) started "auditing" views and actually taking them away if they're found to be fake. That's why if you look at some channels and all of a sudden they will lose a ton of views. There are other reasons for this happening, such as deleting videos or making them private, but fake views will probably be removed eventually, so it's not really worth it at all.

All i can say is try it at your own risk... If you want a long term relationship with Youtube i would suggest staying away from bots, fake views etc...

I see.. bit of a random question now but if one was to use a method of generating fake views/likes/comments.. how long should pass before you can assume you have gotten away with it?

      a day.. a week.. a month??

I mean how quickly do YouTube take action on these things?

Why not just send YouTube an email asking "how long can I **** your system over before I get caught and punished?"

    Hi inxie:

Curiosity killed the cat or at least that is what they say. Basically, there are two sets of rules, one for little people as in you... one for those with a lot of power.

Sadly, in this world you are a serf or a prince. If you are a serf - like me. Well, there are a million rules and they are creating new ones. Google will probably ban you. Big accounts can get away with it. They have power.

If a video is controversial they will take it down and shut down your account to avoid trouble with those in power. Try to put your self in their shoes as an internet company.

For example, a video on Dangers of fracking will probably get you taken down on excessive views. Also, you will be accuse of copy wrong issues.

YouTube can delete your account any time they want to.

Sometimes people flagging videos can get the account terminated.

I had mine deleted two years ago

Why i will never know,i did not do anything unethical and even wrote to them asking to explain why?

After numerous emails and no replies i just gave up.

I did have some Amazon links in my vids so i can only think it was because of this. But there are hundreds if not thousands of vids promoting Amazon and they get away with it?

I seem to remember that a lot of well known marketers getting their accounts terminated but have since got them back.

I have a hard time believing this could get you deleted or banned from You Tube. Think about it. Anyone could try feeding someone elses video a whole bunch of likes/comments etc to try and get their video punished in some way.

Well don't forget that there is such a thins as an IP address and if you are putting 100 likes from one computer most likely YouTube will know about it.

I wouldn't do it if I was you.

Yes. This is possible. Couple of years back, I had a bot created for getting youtube likes and got like 500 youtube accounts from someone. All of those got deleted when after using the bot for like a week or so and this was a couple of years back. I am sure, they may have more stringent rules now.

I have been buying botted views for my videos a long time and never got banned. I have been banned because copyright things etc. but never because botting views.
