How To Set Up Gmail to Send and Receive Emails as if It's From you@yourdomain.com--Help!

Hello Warriors, I read somewhere last year that it is possible to set up gmail account such that you could easily send and receive emails as if it were from you@yourdomain.com

For instance, if I were to send you an email from gmail

The From space will look like its coming from me@mydomainname.com

and if you reply me using me@mydomainname.com, I will receive it at my gmail account.

Anyone with a link to the tutorial as explained by a warrior last year should please help me with it.

Thanks...

Don't know where the original post you mention is, but we've got this setup for dozens of addresses to all funnel through our main gmail accounts.

From within your Gmail account, click on the gear wheel (below your name towards the top right) and then click 'Settings'.

Next, click on the 'Accounts' link and scroll down to the 'Send Mail As:' area.

Click add another email address you own and follow the steps/ go through the verification process and it is all setup.

Then, you will want to setup Gmail to automatically reply from the same email address your received it from. (it defaults to replying from your Gmail address, not your @yourdomain address).

So, click on the gear wheel again and then settings again. Click on Accounts and scroll down to 'When replying to a message:' and click the button next to 'Reply from the same address the message was sent to'

Hope this helps and we LOVE how easy this is to setup and manage... So your on the right track!

  • Masterpeez,

You just have to log into your gmail account, click the gear box in the top right hand corner, click settings, click accounts, then the second option is “send mail as:”. Enter in the appropriate info there and you can send mail as another email address that you own.

Also, here is Google’s tutorial on how to do that,

    Hope that helps,

    Thanks for the fast response.

Incase the recepient wants to reply me usine my domain email to which it appeared he received his message from, will I get it automatically delivered to my gmail account?

For instance, after I send email and the recepient see that the email is from myname@mydomain.com. Of course he would want to use myname@mydomain.com to reply me, will he message get delievered to my gmail account?

    Thanks!

This will be discussed in the thread about. You will have to set a forward for your domain email in the cpanel.

So whatever gets send to your domain email will be forwarded to your gmail, and then you can use your gmail to reply as your domain email again

    1. Login to Gmail and click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner, then select settings from the dropdown.
    2. Next, click on the tab that says "Accounts and Import."
    3. Click on "Add another email address you own."
    4. Enter the email address (you@yourdomain.com) then click on next step.
    5. On the next screen, select the option that says "send mail through Gmail."
    6. On the following screen, you will be asked to click a button to send a verification email to the email you have added in order to confirm you own it.
    7. Open the verification email and copy and paste the code provided in the Gmail settings window.
    8. Once verified, return to the main settings window for Gmail and click on "make default" next to the email address you have just added.
    9. Below that, be sure to toggle the radio button that says "always reply from default address" to ensure that your mail is sent with your personalized domain email address rather than your gmail address.

    Hope this helps.
