Hello Warrior Forum,

I have just begun my adventure in IM approximately 6 months ago. After a lot of trail and error, I've established a few decent search engine rankings, and some traffic to go along with it.

Right now, I'm having an issue with conversions. I have had absolutely no conversions. I am stumped as to why I have not made a single sale. I've been focusing on selling Market Samurai lately, and although I'm acquiring the traffic to my articles, I am not making any money.

I know this is a vague issue, and I will be willing to give what information you may need to help.

What's your sales page look like? Have you tried split testing it? if your traffic is SEO, how does your page compare to your competition on those keywords? Sometimes take a look at paid ad landing pages, as many ppc landing pages will be split tested. Your landing page is key and has to 'flow' to a call to action.

That's one aspect that will make or break your offer. Are you building a list to harvest that traffic-what about pop-up squeeze page offering a free giveaway guide say on keyword research, how to do it manually and then the benefits of say Market Samurai (with afflink a?) Capturing the emails could make the difference, as you can then drop feed info and the offer.

Thank you for your quick response and valuable information.

My landing page is simply an article, and my call to action is lacking. I've been brain-storming how I can be more aggressive, but I fear being too aggressive will lose my audience's attention.

An email list is something I've heard a lot about, but I have no idea how it works and how I could implement it.

You have to figure out the right level of aggressiveness.:p Not too aggressive to chase away customers, but aggressive enough to get noticed.

You're trying to sell from your website?

What amount of traffic are you getting?

How are you trying to sell? Is it a straight up pitch, review articles, or helpful articles that lead toward using MS?

Are you building a list? It's much easier to build a relationship with your list than it is to build a relationship with visitors to a site.

I'd recommend that you have a very soft sell, but with a strong call to action. So something along the lines of solving the readers' problems the manual way, then saying, "That is a lot of work, isn't it? If you want to cut the job from 1 hour down to 5 minutes, then Click Here".

You currently have a bit of a disconnect - you're describing working from home job, for example, then saying "Market Samurai - The Best tool to check out competition". You should explain that keyword research is key to that process, that once you have created your site, you can track rankings and so on, and possibly show some manual ways to do this. Market Samurai is the automated way to gather information quickly and accurately, so that you get the right keywords which will lead to your success.

Do you use market samurai? I would review the tool, so that you know its benefits, then you can better market it - currently you're really selling it short. If you have your own personal experiences as to how this tool helped you to achieve sales, then that in itself will be somewhat convincing for people looking to start a home based business, or buy the product.

It's pretty hard to diagnose your problems from the amount of information you provided here but there are a couple of things you should definitely be doing on your site and the folks here have given you good ideas to get you going.

My two cents is that you definitely need to start building that list and for that you will need a good Autoresponder. A quick Google search will provide you some guidance with that. Once you have an Autoresponder you should take a little time to familiarize yourself with the way things work, many of the services that provide this will have how-to articles or videos to help you get going. In order to get people to sign up to your list you will want to create some sort of incentive, say a free ebook or perhaps a series of videos on how to use Market Samurai. These can then be loaded into your autoresponder as a series of emails to be sent to those who opt-in to your list and thus automatically build your credibility. Next you should generate the opt-in form code, done through the autoresponder service who should have some articles or videos showing you how to do that. Add this code to your site with a strong call to action. You can add some lines to the bottom of your articles stating something to the effect of "Sign up now for my FREE Market Samurai course where I will show you exactly how to use this powerful tool to get to profitable keywords fast! Just put your name and email into the form and hit submit and I will send this to you right away."

Once you start building your list you will want to interact with your subscribers frequently to build a report with them so that they will begin to know you, like you, trust you and eventually buy from you. There is quite a bit of work involved here and most likely some technical hurdles to overcome but that is the way it is in the beginning. Google is your friend, and not just for traffic. When you have technical questions, such as how to add the form code to your website so your visitors can enter their email, just go over to Google and perform a few searches because someone else almost certainly asked the same question and has already received the answer.

When you have question on the marketing side this is the best place to post because the people here are always willing to help!

    Jon.

Are you also focusing on managing the customer lifecycle?

People are indeed landing on your page.

      But...

What happens after someone lands on your page? How do they leave your page? Do they move to your autoresponder? Do they go to the Market Samurai site (as that's what you say you are selling)? Or do they simply close the Window?

You need to know this and manage their post-landing activity, to start getting sales.

I would recommend you make a landing page with the video and optin box and start building your list.

    That should increase conversions.

Also I like using the formula AIDA even when I write artlicle.
    - Attention
    - Interest
    - Desire
    - Action

Do you have that in your article?

FacetiousJD I'd be more than happy to take a look at what you have and see what can be done to start getting you some conversions. Like others have said its hard to make any recommendations with the limited information you've given us.

Is the website in your signature the site your referring to?

Yes, the website in my signature is the site I'm referring to.

Right now, my targeted article is Genuine Work From Home Jobs. It is bringing in a small amount of traffic consistently, and I am getting a few hits off of it for Market Samurai, but no conversions. I'm focusing on bettering my call to action, and am in the process of creating a line-up of messages for a autoresponder. At the moment I do not have the money to invest in an autoresponder, as I am on a very tight budget.

Any and all recommendations would be appreciated.

I have to be honest with you...you are simply not going to be able to make much if any sales off of that page! It is not the type of page that is going to lead to conversions of really any type.

Plus..there is not even close to enough call to action!!!!!!! Most people are not going to read that article and if they do they are NOT going to buy that product!

You need to focus your articles on SPECIFIC products if you want to sell that product. You can use generic articles like you have to drive some traffic and get some content on the site...but as far as making sales it is not going to happen!!

As someone that has did some good with selling products I learned a simple thing a few years ago....MAKE IT EASY FOR THEM TO CLICK YOUR LINKS! Direct them what to do above the fold. You should have a pic of the product you want to sell in your article ABOVE the fold and a link that tells them to click now and buy.

It works wonders. But you also have to focus on the type of traffic you are getting. The article you showed on your site is not going to sell that product. It really does not work that way anymore.

And you really should fix the theme...or at least get a professional looking header.

Contact me if you can for other suggestions. Would be happy to help you.

One of the problems that so many people is with conversion rates. They complain that they're not getting any sales. Well the resoning behind that might be the type of product that you're offering and how you're offering it.

Traffic driving seams to be one of the most asked questions online and for good reason too. You see, driving traffic to a site is one thing,b ut dribing highly targeted traffic is another thing algotether.

It all depends upon what is on yur squeeze page, what is being downloaded, and how often you communicate with these people. And if you're thinking about building as list, then you're in luck because I can actually help you with that. Just send me an email to the following email address with the subject line of "driving Traffic" and I will get back with you. Here's that email address below.

The target audience for Market Samurai is internet marketers who don't already have a keyword tool or are unhappy with the tool they have.

Your articles need to target these people.

Once a person has a keyword tool that they are happy with, it becomes difficult to sell them another one.

The most likely people to fill this criteria are new internet marketers. Your articles should be targeting these people and the needs they have such as

      • Domain name
      • Hosting
      • Autoresponders
      • Keyword tool
      • Graphics packages
      • Wordpress setup, templates and plugins
      • etc

It is a confusing world when they begin internet marketing. Become the person who gives them good advice. The person they can trust.

If you are getting no conversions, it probably means that the people visiting are not the people with the need for a keyword tool.

You gotta work on landing page and also see what kind of traffic you get. If you got lot of uk traffic and offer is only for USA then you won't get any conversions. So there are lot of factors like these which you might be missing. You have to monitor everything. And don't be surprised about not getting conversions it happens!! Just work on the factors like checking traffic source, test landing pages etc. and you will get it right eventually.

If you are sending the traffic directly to the website without collecting their email details, you are basically leaving a lot of money on the table. Why not try going your own list of subscribers so that you will be able to follow up with them through email. You can even direct them back to your website to read the specific blog post that you have written.

    Just my 2 cents

Thank you all for the great advice. I've already tweaked the page to increase conversion focus. At the moment it's not quite a sales page, but it is a step closer.

Eventually I will incorporate a mailing list, but not until I'm making enough sales to cover the autoresponder costs.

If there are any suggestions on sales page resources, I would love to hear them!
