Do you give a downloadable .pdf sample preview of your ebook?

If so, where do you have the sample download link? On your sales page?

I've done that with one of my book and I given 1 chapter away only.

I kept it in a folder that's not so obvious, under /dloads/dload.pdf

Just to get most nosy off there.

    Depends on the product.

    For under $100, i wouldn't give a sample.

For a high ticket $200+ item, you need to give people a way to sample your content before they'll buy (to get the highest conversion rate possible). Giving away a smaple PDF probably isn't the best way to do it.

Another (very basic) way to do it better would be to have a squeeze page, then give people great content (the same stuff you would give away in your sample) in the next 7 followup messages in your autoresponder messages constantly preselling the paid version whilst giving away that great content.

    That will increase your conversions.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

For cheaper products, offer a table of contents.
