I've just started my first blog in the Sports field. What are the best ways to start marketing it? Cheaper the better.

You may want to start syndicating it through social media :-)

You will need to write a few posts, probably about 10, then you can list it on blogging syndicates such as Technorati.

Once you do this every time you make a new post, Technorati will list it on their site, so you will get new visitors and also gain in the Google rankings.

You could also join Hubpages and Squidoo, then have some posts on these sites that link back to your main blog.

I received tons of free traffic from Hubpages once I posted about 4 articles there, and I still receive traffic from Hubpages although I have not made a new post there for about 2 years.

Another thing you need to do if you have not already is to link posts on your blog to other posts on your blog (on page SEO), this will keep readers on your blog for longer and help you greatly in Google rankings.

Just a couple of tips, but these things have helped me to gain a lot of traffic, and they are things you only need to do once and you get free traffic for years from them!

I hope you make a success of your blog.

Before even thinking about getting visitors to your blog, make sure you have some valuable content on there.

In fact, make sure there is LOTS of valuable content on there.

Then start thinking about driving visitors.

Make sure you have submitted your site to the search engines. Enter your website at sites like pingler.com. Do this step for every page you create. Find forums within the sports niche and engage other subscribers with helpful info (Do Not SELL YOUR PRODUCT in forum posts) Use your forum posts to give value to the thread like helpful tips and such. There is a BIO box for you to add your website link and this is the only place you should put your link.

SEO and Article Marketing are great traffic sources for those who do not have a budget for paid traffic. I've used pretty much every kind of free traffic source and being helpful on forums has made me the most money.

Make sure your site is optimized for solid SEO and start to pump out content DAILY. This is super important. I'd recommend integrating social media, specifically Twitter, Facebook and Google+ immediately.

    Great content = visitors

1st you have must have quality content 600-1000 articles it will effectively help you rank well on google. Then outsource your seo work, hiring a freelancer for backlink building, submiting directory, article submiting, social bookmarking .... btw, white hat method only, otherwise you site will be penalized by google.

Commenting on relevant blogs, forum posting with a signature, building an email list, social media, having epic and sharable content; all great ways to build an audience.

There are many ways that you can market your blog such as commenting on other blogs that are directly related to your niche. Another way is through here, the Warrior Forum.

A matter of fact, putting your blog inside your signature file is a sure fire way of driving traffic to it and if you're building a list, then you can also build the list from the Warrior Forum as well.

The main thing is, is to get the blog out to as many eyes as possible so that people will notice you. You can write articles and submit them to the article directories and place a link back to your blog in the article's resource box, and that too is a good marketing method to use.

Make a blog post everyday and ping the blog search engines (pingomatic .com). Write articles and submit them to ezine owners and article directories. Participate on niche forums - a good Google search will help you to find some. Throw some adsense and relevant affiliate products on your blog, and use paid advertising and social media to get promotion to your blog.
