Quick answer...... Do something in it. Say something, add music. Just do something.

      1. Try outsourcing the voice over to a pro. Perhaps improving your tone / pitch and removing the 'errmms' might help. We need to be captivated by your voice. Imagine delivering this video to a college / school class. It needs to be engaging.

      2. Add slides / or any graphical content with motion and colour to keep your audience engaged. Starring at a single slide / image 'forces' your eyes to wander - hence your audience is now distracted and before long, they've lost interest in the video.

For a first attempt though - congrats! We all started the same way.

Great job at doing something that most people won't which is actually putting yourself out there and doing something.

I personally like that you did the voiceover yourself vs hiring someone, but I would definitely put a little more energy into it and really work eliminating on your emmms and uhhhs (which I used to struggle with too).

Also, as others have suggested, you could make it more engaging by adding a couple slides. If you don't have powerpoint, then you can use Impress by OpenOffice for free.

        Hopefully that helps!

Yup, as said above - face in front of the camera or powerpoint. People get bored with video. Good job making it pretty short though and being yourself.

One thing that can help is to think of/outline your main points you want to get across before you start. That way people at least feel like you're confident really know what you're talking about.

For $5 or $10 you can get somebody from Fiverr to do you a pretty good video.

I say the key is to keep creating different kind of videos by testing different components of the video so that you will be able to get one that appeals to your visitors. The thing that I will do is to that I will observe the kind of videos that my competitor is creating and try to model after them.
