So I am currently setting up a shareasale account for a diamond retailer, what sort of materials do affiliates need to generate traffic to the retailer's website?

Well, this is kind of a "Affiliate Marketing 101" course Most come up with their own site and own email list and create affiliate materials (emails, banners, deals) and share them with your audience, and forward the buyers over to the retailer's website. Ideally this is a one-click solution where they go from your site to an expected page where they can buy while they are hot.

Miles here... It sounds like you are setting the diamond retailer up as a merchant on Share-A-Sale, is that correct?

If so, your team of affiliates will be more effective if you add your products to a datafeed and get the datafeed into Share-A-Sale, so datafeed affiliates can quickly add your products to their sites.

Also, you'll want to create a couple of different sets of image ads in multiple sizes and upload those for affiliates to use. Here is a list of standard image ad sizes... (scroll down below the text) Web banner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Personally, I create 10 different sized ads for each campaign I launch through the programs I manage. Small ones, tall ones, short ones, big ones... The better the variety you offer, the better the chance is that your ad will fit neatly on the affiliates' sites.

Also, consider running exclusive coupon codes through the above-mentioned image ads, through your Share-A-Sale affiliates. This will help them have an extra little incentive that may help their traffic convert more sales and jump-start your program.

Best of luck managing your program!

You need an assortment of banners, link text and a strong description of your program.
