I would to know if what I have done is unethical. Late last night I posted on craigslist that I am selling an Ipad for 75.00. In the posting I put I am giving it away on a first come first serve basis. But I am really not it's a cpa offer for a free ipad. When someone emails me about the ipad i will tell them that i got rid of it and offer the cpa offer for the free ipad. Ever since i post it i have been flooded with emails asking about the offer. I am debating rather I should add them to my list or delete the post.

I'm not aware of any situation where lying/being dishonest is ever ethical? Can you?

There are better ways to get traffic!

This is a greyhat/ blackhat method of driving traffic. I dont recommend it. You might make some money using this method. BUT - youll eventually get pulled from the offer for sending bad leads etc..

Id check with your affiliate manager first.

It's not only unethical - it's bait and switch. (read: Illegal).

      Unethical - check.
      Illegal - check.
Immoral - check (for me - others' opinions may differ).
Contrary to Craigslist TOS - check.

I think you should delete the ad. Sorry, but you did ask, and rightly: I think you already felt pretty uncomfortable about it yourself - understandably?

(Different points altogether, but I also think it won't work, that someone will "report" you, and that you'll get into trouble).

This is called EWhorring in dating industry...

This method is used to get attention of readers with some shining ads and when they approach you, then you send them somewhere else..

in your case, I would call it IPad Ewhorring

I`ve seen this method in various ways been posted on different blackhat websites.

    This is illegal.
You should focus on doing IM the proper way.

I am wondering what was the motivation in even asking the question here.

    Trying to bait us too?
