Power / Electricity Problems in Philippines

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

sometimes the virtual assistant I hire from Philippines is unavailable several days, he wasn't able to do the tasks, again and again, and the excuse is power off, there was no electricity available.

(Don't take it national, the electricity can be off in the rich countries too)

I wonder how can I get this power/electricity problem solved?

He must be from Mindanao. That region gets 8 hour blackouts nowadays. Look for a temp based in NCR or Luzon.

I've lived here for 10 years so while the problem with 'brownouts' is real I've never seen ones that lasted for days.

There was a time a few years ago when we'd have brownouts almost everyday... now that was annoying Now it's more like once every week or so and even then it's only for a short time. They do tend to have the 'scheduled' maintenance on Sundays. That usually lasts all day and which with my UFC enjoyment... AND they forget to personally come to my door to let me know.

Can you believe how inconsiderate some people can be?

Hi, iligan city is in mindanao. I agree with writeaway, most people here in the ncr / luzon area have no power problems (unless they dont pay the bills).

Yes. It is normal especially in summer time. Those who leave in rural areas too experiences blackouts. The bad thing is that if it would have blackouts, the internet modem of some ISP provider is struggling to find IP so even if the electricity has came back, there will still be no internet connection.

The great way for your VA in the Philippines to work is that give your VA a right amount of payment and let them login on their downtown internet cafes.

I'm from eastern part of Philippines. Brownout happens once a week. Power can be out for 4-12 hours.

Most businesses here in the Philippines like malls and coffee shops have wifi & backup power supply. So I think your VA can go to these locations and use his laptop to work.

Yes, that happens all the time during summer. Nothing you can do about it, except wait it out.

Hello AbdullahKaragoz,

I asked my virtual assistant from Philippines. He told me that possible if you hire a virtual assistant from mindanao region since that area has experiencing a rotational power.

These are a few options off of the top of my head:

1) You could invest several million US dollars and upgrade the electrical infrastructure in the VAs town;
2) Get your VA to move some place with a more dependable power supply;
3) Buy your VA a power generator and a cellular data connection (and hope the data towers have power during blackouts); or
4) Hire another VA in an area where there are no power issues.

Blackouts are rampant in some parts of Mindanao during the summer months. the best solution would be to hire someone in areas with more reliable power supply like Davao, Manila, Baguio or Cebu.

Power cuts happen in many developing countries. In India, they call it load shedding. In my city, there is an approximate power cut for 1 hour a day. However, in some cities the power cut may last 2 to 3 hours. You may want to hire a VA from a different city in Philippines that is not effected by power cuts so much.

Hey Abdullah,

My team is from Davao City and they are doing just fine. No power outs problem with them. But I heard iligan City is having this power problems. But it's what they call rotational brownouts. In a day they experience 4 to 8 hours rotational brownout.

I'd suggest you hire someone from different places.
