Lots of links to a Web 2.0 property?

Hi guys,

I never understood this concept until I was listening to a podcast today. So the idea is I have for example an article on EzineArticles. And if I was to purchase or automate backlinking to this article then that site would then potentially send referral traffic to my site via my link in my small bio box.

Is this a good strategy? I don't see how this would affect me in terms of Google as essentially the traffic then choose whether they want to go to my main site...

Obviously depending on the backlinks quality and whether its targeted would determine traffic CT. At the moment EzineArticles sends about 1 every two weeks which results in about 1.5%CTR which is why i haven't posted any more articles on their site.

No; it's actually an awful and entirely misguided strategy, on a number of levels and for many different reasons. Please excuse my not posting detailed explanations of any of them, with links to further information, but the chances are that the moderators are going to delete this thread anyway, because "backlink discussions" belong here: Adsense / PPC / SEO Discussion Forum
