How to use forum marketing?

I am exploring the option of using forum marketing to build my list and do some affiliate sales. Looking forward for an opinion and advice on how best I can make use of the forum.

At Warrior forum itself, I have been trying to incorporate a link to my website in my signature. However my signature is not getting displayed. Can somebody help me to trouble shoot this issue please?

You probably need more posts to have a signature.

Ideally you want to make your site into a resource that people will then repost over time.

For instance I have been posting here for about 4 years and over time people have come to know my free royalty free music site.

Now I see traffic every day from Warrior forum from resources lists that include my website.

So that is how it works.

If your site just sells something, and is not a resource, I think it would be hard to get traction with forum marketing.

You have to offer something of real value for free to get some "viral lift" happening in forums.

You can contact the support, they will help you with no problem.

As for forum marketing all you have to do is provide value to other members.
You can writ a guide on a topic that is high on demand (or buy a PLR ebook),
put it up in the free section, and capture leas with a squeeze page.
Providing good value for free is the key here.

i can see your signature. it happens to me sometimes as well that i can't see it but then in the next post it appears again.
i´m just considering to buy an image here myself. i asked in the forum and people think it is well worth the money

beside that: be helpful. give members here or in the forum related to your niche a helping hand. give valuable answers. do it daily. that is the best advice for forum marketing, consistency. it´s good when people meet you again and again. it takes up to 7 contacts before they trust you so better start typing ;-)

    Yes.

Your signature is already displayed - to others (just not to you, because you have that option disabled in your own profile settings). To rectify that, click on "User CP" (near the top left of any page here) and then on "Edit Options" in the drop-down menu. Then on the next page scroll down to the part headed "Thread Display Options" and check the box marked "Display signature files". Then scroll to the bottom of that page and click the "save changes" button. That will fix it.

I can see your signature. I suggest you buy a one year graphical sig package from WF. It is worth it. My sales JUMPED when I bought a graphical sig here. Money well-spent.

It’s a loooong process. You need to build your reputation in a forum before you can go any further. That alone takes time. But once you get there, it’s easier to build a list. Just be informative, provide value to your post and position yourself as someone people could get information with.

Ps. Your signature is crystal clear from my end.

Forum marketing? How? You will create accounts on different forums and to use your signature to promote your business?

anne, that's how it works although i prefer to concentrate on one thing at a time. i rather post in one forum than in 3 because i see some names over and over again and so do others. basically, you need others to start trusting you, that is what forum or an other kind of social media marketing is about.

I see your sig! You need to provide helpful answers to questions. Whilst you can occasionally write a quick note to thank someone for something interesting you read about a particular topic, you should keep this to a minimum.

Write thorough and personalized answers. That's what people visiting forums are looking for. They enjoy genuine answers. Add your 2 cents as we commonly say. Give your opinion even if it's not always deemed PC correct but make sure you also read all the guidelines. Some forums are quite strict so you don't want to be banned right away lol!

    Happy commenting!

Forum marketing works great and I love it I've been doing it for several years, I even built software specifically for that purpose to keep me focused and organized.

It's one of the few effective ways these days to get free organic targeted traffic. Participating on forums has also enabled me to get freelancing work, meet some excellent JV partners and has opened a lot of doors for me. It's a wonderful way of building great business relationships, establishing authority and helping you to grow your online business.

Couldn't agree more, Rob! It's a brilliant technique but it took a while before I realized it lol! I was a slow mover! :

I can also see your signature.

You can't expect to put a link in your signature and instantly make a thousand sales. You need to remember to keep posting regularly on this forum; interact with the community. In other words, provide helpful responses to other member's threads, create your own threads, leave feedback, etc. Make it a habit of posting on this forum a certain amount of times every day and once your reputation has been established you will see a drastic increase in sales.

The key is to provide VALUE.

Don't worry about how you can post so that your signature gets exposure. Rather, set up your signature, forget about it and just concentrate on getting involved and providing value when and where you can. If you make good, relevant posts then you'll find that people will click on your link who are naturally curious and want to know more about you or what else you have to offer.

It makes me think of a saying that Alex Jeffreys uses a lot - "Don't chase money, let money chase you." I find that it's the same with things such a forum posting, blog commenting, etc. If you focus first and foremost on getting involved, contributing and giving value, then the nice side effect is that things will happen organically in the background for you. It takes time and requires patience, but it's worth it in order to build relationships and your reputation.

Get involved, have fun and you'll see the results

Thanks for this insightful piece of advice.

I checked your blog. I must congratulate you on make it so beautiful!
"Don't chase money, let money chase you" is a great paradigm. As you have rightly said, that can only happen when you have great value addition.

I will focus on that. Thanks!!

Forum marketing only works very well if you provide useful content. Then visitors may click through on your signature link.

Exactly. Attract with quality content first. Your CTR depends on your credibility or the quality of your sig ad.

You can use forum marketing to attract your prospects in a forum where they frequently have conversations by giving them smart lessons.

You can use forum marketing to become known online, and also to find affiliates and JV partners, besides the traffic you get from your signature.

Your signature is fine. My advice is simple, just add good content to the threads. I would recommend using more than one forum and testing different signature links to see which ones work best.

Forum marketing starts with paying interest in other people on the forum.

      Ask questions
      be honest
      give your opinion
      provide value

      Don't spam
No click my link, buy my stuff posts.
Don't start threads about topics that you see pop up time after time.

      just my 0.2

Just be smart about it. Forums are great for personal brand building but it will backfire if you are forcing yourself on the community by being overly active without having a good feeling of the atmosphere on the site. You will look like an outsider and people won't really pay attention to you.
