Affilate blog--can I do this?

This might be a dumb question, but if I have a blog focused on selling a certain book, can one of my blog posts just be the exact wording on the back of the bookjacket as long as I say that is what it is? Afterall, I am selling their book for them...

    There's this little thing called "copyright" - which some people don't seem to feel is important.

    They're wrong. If you want to use what someone else wrote and published in a book or on a site (including Amazon) - you need permission from the author.
    It doesn't matter why you want to use it - you can't just take someone's else work product (their writing) and use it.

    Or you can take advice from someone who says "it's fine" and risk the consequences which can be far greater than a C&D letter.

    Kay is on the ball tonight...

    It is always better to be safe than sorry. Try to see if you can track down some contact information for the author and contact them to request use of that content and they will likely OK it since you are trying sell more copies of their book.
