Is "Part Time Blogger" a trademark?

Hello experts.

Would like to get your views. I tried to check the appraisal for Part Time Blogger (dot) com but it shows that it is a "High risk trademark domain" and thus not appraised.

I tried google the term but not found any trademark.

Anybody knows about this?

Thanks in advance..

Naz

Possibly because it contains the word "blogger"?

You should never use slang in domains as an alternative for the real domain. People tend not to remember them and you'd be giving away a percentage of traffic to parttimeblogging.com when people type it in and instinctively spell it correctly.

Also the suffix 'er' has different meaning than 'ing'. It changes the meaning of the noun.

"I'm a part time blogger" is grammatically correct.
    "I'm a part time blogging" isn't.

Since the domain he was referring to was "blogger" he has a reason with that.

I don`t think that google has under trademark the word blogger. I think it`s just something the automaded bots see as trademark risk.

According to the US Trademark Electronic Search Service (tmsearch.uspto.gov), the word "blogger" is indeed trademarked, but no record was found for "part time blogger".

Unless you were planning to offer free blogs to the public, where parttimeblogger.com might be confused with blogger.com, you should be in the clear.

        Key words: "should be"

You can find out for sure by submitting a trademark application and seeing if it's approved. Then you'll own the mark 'part time blogger'.

A search using just the term 'blogger' turned up 53 occurences of registered trademarks containing the word 'blogger'.

Just checked the past domain sales, there about 50 domain sales related to "blogger", to name a few:

    businessbloggers.co.uk sold $1.6k in 2012 through Sedo
    businessbloggers.com sold $3.2k in 2012 through Sedo
    videoblogger.net sold $3.4k in 2012 through Afternic
    Geobloggers.com sold $610 in 2012 through Namejet
    TheStarBlogger.com sold $405 in 2012 through Godaddy
    NetBlogger.com sold $650 in 2011 through Sedo

If "blogger" is a trademark, why the domains were sold in the domain marketplace?

Besides, Blogger.info, blogger.biz and blogger.us belong to somebody else, not Google. Why don't Google "seize" the domains if the term "blogger" is a trademark?

      Depends on the usage.

Blogger as google uses it is more of a noun.

Blogger as I'm reading it in the other domains is a verb.

(this is not a legal explanation, only my thought )

Google can only take action if the intention of the domain is used in relation to Google's Blogger service. Google may have the TM on the word Blogger, but only in relation to it's product. It has no ownership of the word outside of it's product.

Google can not register a TM for it's product under the dictionary definition of the word Blogger. Nobody can.

How is it possible to use "blogger" as a verb?
          Any example?

Maybe you are right. So if I have a domain NewYorkBlogger.com and it is about my daily diary, it should be ok haha
