How Passive Income kept me affloat while I was in the Hospital.

For the last few weeks I have been in the Hospital recovering from 2 operations and to which one was life threatening.

While in the hospital I was in no condition to make an income by any means.

Most of my income comes from web design and development and active marketing.

As I handle most of the bills at home and nearly pay everything online, my family and I were a bit concerned.

What pulled us through was what I call static lines of income. This can be viewed as passive income. It is all just coming from a point of view. The way I build my passive income is like a stop light.

Green - Static Banner/Text Links, Sniper sites. Very little maintenance.
Amber - Such things as Classifieds that have limited life.
Red - This is active marketing. Anything from Email Marketing, Content Posting in Social Media sites, etc. This area takes up the most time.

    Definitely nice to have those passive (sniper) style sites that bring in monthly income.

    The great part is that you can't turn them off even if you wanted to : )

    The really cool thing about internet marketing is that you don't have to be here all the time to make things work. You can just set up a system and that system can actually work on your behalf while you are not online.

    A lot of people think that you need to be on the computer all the time and they also have this mindset that your business can not run on complete auto-pilot for you.

    When you are able to even build some sort of a residual income online to the point where you are earning a nice full time income, you can take as much time off each week to rest and your income would still continue to come in and hopefully grow depending on the programs that you are in.

    Passive Income Rocks!!

    Hey All...

    I had a similar situation happen to me a few years back. I was in a car accident with a friend. We were both out of work for a few weeks.

    He's an office manager at a furniture company, and his employer's health insurance plan was able to assist with his medical costs, but he's not making money while he's not working/

    For me, I have various online ventures that keep me afloat financially. Being unable to work for a few weeks crushed my friend financially.

    (No worries...I have helped my friend set up a few online ventures. If this ever happens again, he'll be in a better position to handle it.)

    Hang in there Chris! I just came off a hernia surgery 7 weeks ago. I own a couple of subscription based sited which are all under the category of passive income. I have that and some real-estate (another one which is mostly passive if you set it up right) Gives me time to go to the Gym each morning and play with my 3 year old daughter until she goes to sleep. Incidentally my upcoming site is in the health niche, I'm going to try to help folks take charge of their own health and wellbeing (I lost 15k. from my peak weight and am working on a sixpack now) It's a matter of changing your diet and mindset. I wish you the best of health, and that you can take the time to recover well. Take long walks (yes even in your condition when it hurts a bit) Don't eat anything processed, and drink lots of water, and fresh juices or smoothies if you want an upgrade. you'll be back in shape in notime.

      Yeah I had to change my diet. I am definitely eating healthier foods now. Through all this I also was able to quit smoking.

        Its good to know you are recovering and your are on healthier foods now.
        Good that you quit smoking, I stopped smoking while ago and honestly I feel more relaxed and comfortable in my every day life ....

    Chris glad you made it buddy. Passive income is the best, it's something I always try to make my priority, whether it be hosting packages or something similar, little by little it ads up and turns in to an avalanche.

    Great story Chris. I quit smoking when I was 35 and had my first heart attack in 1995. There was no Internet marketing then, so glad you have that to sustain you while you recover. Best of luck.
