How To Create Information Products FAST

Hi Warriors

I would like to share step by step in what i did to create my
very first information product.

The great thing about this method is it is very fast and you wont have
to spend weeks or months in creating a product like an ebook or creating
software for example that can takes a long time and it gives you instant credibility in any market. This is of course assuming you don't outsource product creation.

THE POWER OF INTERVIEWING EXPERTS.

This is an amazing way to get noticed and get branding by association.
One of my favorite interviews i did was with internet marketing legend
Terry Dean and it took some persuading but finally he agreed and
it was on the power of email marketing. It also allows you to ride
of the success of other people by leveraging your efforts by others.

Here is what i did step by step:

STEP 1. I contacted Terry and gave him an offer that was impossible to refuse. In other words whats in it for him, not me.You want to do this with all your proposals Including Joint ventures.

I stated he could have equal ownership rights, wide distribution
to a massive audience and allowed him to promote himself and his company at the end of the Interview and it gave him free publicity.

STEP 2. Next i planned some interview questions that are very specfic. Remember the more specific your topic is and the more specific your interview questions are the better the quality of your product.I then
emailed him the questions and set up an appointment on skype.

STEP 3. I set up skype and my audio microphone and tested this on skype and used "pamela for skype" software to record the call.It cost like $20 , real cheap.

STEP 4. After the interview i edited the beginning and the end using free software online called Audacity. Just google it.

STEP 5. I then added some music at beginning and end on audacity and uploaded it to AmazonS3 Server and now it was available as a digital download, very cool stuff.

By the way this a fantastic method for getting more traffic, building relashionships with joint venture partners and branding yourself as an expert.

After you have done your first interview you will get more confidence and start to see results. This method can be duplicated for any expert.

Hope that helps

Mark

Great method, Mark. This is one of the easiest ways to create a GREAT product...and the best thing is that the expert will do most of the work for you.

If you want to scale things up and profit BIG time, you could partner up with him and do a Webinar together.

I have discovered that "gurus" or "experts" (especially those found on the Warrior Forum) are very helpful and friendly.

Just the process of turning an interview with an expert into a sellable product is metamorphic in itself.

    Much Success,

How does this work for a newbie who is NOT in IM niche. I am in another niche. As a complete newbie, how can I apply this technique?

      Please advise.

Hi Peter, the only thing that's different is that you need to find a "guru" from your own niche - health, forex, weight loss...etc. Problem is people in IM are used to this kind of stuff and will gladly accept (and there are tons of them), while people in other niches might be a bit harder to get a hold of.

I agree. Peter, I would like to add that since you are in a market that might not be familiar with helping you create a product from an interview, you might have to explain to them what you are doing and how it works. Present a nice offer like Mark did and I believe you will have a great outcome.

Now this is probably my personal preference... But I hate these type of interviews.

I don't even optin for 'em let alone buy a interview recording.

If it was me, I'd rather somebody show me - step by step - through the entire process on how to do the desired action.

These audio interviews are just too vague and never go into detail enough.

But like I said - that's my personal preference. If you can sell the damn thing then more power to you

We interviewed over nearly 100 bestselling authors, literary agents, editors at major publishing houses, booksellers and book reviewers for our book on the publishing industry but tied it together with lots of research and our own content. So yes interviews do work.

I'm 100% with you here James.

I'm a visual guy and for me, PDF is the best because I can see what I have to do and can do it at my pace.

I even prefer PDF over videos, as they tend to take ages to load and you never know what's actually inside if they don't put it in the title or say at the beginning.

I remember the audio serious from Sean Mize here. Great content in terms of information but I didn't got it as I hate listening to audios.

So summing it up, I think this is great for listbuilding but not for a product you wanna sell - unless you turn the content into other stuff and make a package out if it.

I agree...i find audio's ultimately boring; they should have time markings showing where they change subjects/reveal specific details (like an album tracklist). So its pdf for me aswell. It also gives you a more opportunity for your promotion to be seen while the reader skims the document. Also, after the download; its too much of a chore for a listener to go back through an audio...while details in a pdf can be easily accesible, and consequently your promo will be seen again and again.

There are a lot of people who'll likely buy such product especially if you were really able to interview a well-known person in the area of your interest. I am so positive that this method will work as long as you do the proper steps of marketing afterwards.

    Thanks for this idea!

Terry Dean is the man. Don't know him or anything but I like his stuff.

And interviewing is a big deal. Think of Oprah, Barbara Walters (aka Barbara WaWa), and Larry King.

    How did they create value?

    By interviewing others.

Correct in the process and by making one small tweak, you can make this even more powerful.

To xxxJames' point, an interview asking about their tips or advice in general get old very quickly.

What you REALLY want to do is identify a very specific niche challenge in your marketplace... let's say it is "how do I lose 10 lbs of belly fat in 30 days".

You want to then find experts that will help with that specific challenge and then ask them a series of questions around step-by-step advice for achieving that desired result.

So, instead of a rambling 30-minutes of talking you get a laser-focused interview that pulls out the best system for helping your prospect achieve what they want the most.

This is what we now do with our interviews and get very good feedback from them.

    Great method Mark...
But assuming you're a newbie in the market, why would an expert agree to it when you don't really have any distribution?(unles you already have a sizeable list). I realize you gave him distribution rights, but that really only benefits you, to build your list/cred if he distributes to his list. Or was it just that simple?

I can see this working for newbs if you built up your list by using lesser experts, and leveraged that distribution with greater experts.

As well, try incorporating multiple experts' opinions on a specific problem, and use them to reinforce a stepwise solution for the reader (ala frank kern's 'results in advance').

      Very good point!

Here are some tips I used when I enter new markets as a complete newbie to get experts attention...

      1. I look for experts that are currently doing a book or product launch, these people are EXTRA hungry for publicity as they are already operating in that mode so they are typically very receptive.

      2. You give them access to the interview (or part of it...I like to conduct the interview in 2-parts if they allow me where the first part is designed around giving them a tool they can use to drum up more publicity where the second part is kept private for my customers) - they can use this as lead generation, give-aways to their list, put it on their blog, etc...

      3. I show them my blog and let them know (the entire interview if you are using the interview as a lead-gen incentive or part if you are selling the interview) that their content and links back to their site will remain on this blog feeding them traffic for months/years...even if you are a newbie, that is worth a good amount.

      4. In very rare cases where I REALLY want to get someone I will offer them something else (write 5 articles for their blog, conduct a series of free interviews, cut the transcripts for the interviews, give them a testimonial, etc...) in order to get their attention.

Once you have the first few in the bag, you can play them off one another which works wonderfully too.

If you carry yourself with authority, you'll find that being new to a particular business or enterprise won't prevent people from taking you seriously, particularly when you're not asking them to give you any money. Agreeing to an interview is not much of a risk on the part of your prospect.

Interviewing an expert is definitely a fast way to create an information product that you don't have to write . Not only that, but because you interviewed an expert in a particular field means that your product will have that much more appeal to it,and people will buy it.

Even if you transcribed the audio into a PDF file, if you sell them both together, then you will have one outstanding information product!

Interviews are great to test a new market to see if your product sells and you can also get it transcribed into PDF format or do slides for a video to suite a different format for people, which adds even more value to your product.
