Clickbank Rejects Adult Products Now?

Hey,

So I have a product I created - series of books and MP3s - and it seems Clickbank said the product is too explicit.

This product is within a niche that several other existing products are, and therefore I am quite confused as to why mine was not accepted.

Have they changed their terms of product acceptance recently?

They haven't changed any specific terms that I'm aware of. Without seeing your product it's hard to see why it may have been rejected in comparison to their other adult related products.

Well, it happened to me before. I used to sell a WSO here on WF that involved making money promoting adult dating affiliate programs. When it sold out here I decided to move it to clickbank. I even paid a designer and a copywriter to build a nice website and when I submitted it to CB it got rejected. They said they don't allow adult-related products.

Well, the product regards how to perform an adult act. There are several specific titles with this niche.

I want to say the name *may* be the problem, however, keeping it funky fresh and honest, even the OTHER products use the terminology. So I'm over here highly displeased when I've seen way worse in their affiliate copy.

Now I have a website and an audio product that I might need to put on GumRoad or somewhere else because ClickBank is being picky.

Allen, thats what's so funny. I made most of my CB money promoting adult products. I'm lost and confused. Going to see if there's a number I can call to speak with someone directly.

Yes, I'm afraid they have. Their acceptance policies, anyway.

And "adult" is one of the areas where they've changed them, a couple of months ago. (This is only from informal conversation with a manager there, not from anything I've seen on their website).

It's annoying because (as with other things, in the past) they change "acceptance" only and not the things they're already selling. So there are inconsistencies: things which were were both acceptable and accepted in the past, and are still on sale, can be rejected under the changed acceptance guidelines. Frustrating.

They say that it's because of "the demands of their own upline financial service providers".

          Thank you Alexa!

I just got off the phone with a support agent and they encouraged me to ask them for detailed information about what is and what is not acceptable.

At this point, I'm very willing to modify the product if I need to change language or visuals, but if they're outright rejecting it while allowing other products to remain live, I guess that's their issue and not mine. What I'll be looking for is an alternative so I can sell, and involve affiliates.

They are human. And are aware of the obvious anomaly involved in not accepting things effectively equivalent to things previously accepted and currently sold. :p

Good luck with your product, either way; and good to see you posting again.

              Thank you for your reply.

Going forward we are not accepting products that are explicit in this nature. We do still allow products on this topic that are more clinical in nature. If you would like to re-structure your Pitch Page and product and re-record the audios and .pdf's we would be able to reconsider accepting your product.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Whatever, I'll find another way to hustle this product.
I'll have to put money into a kick-ass marketing and engagement campaign and take this offline.

              Challenge accepted. LOL

Wow, I'm curious now as to how 'explicit in nature' your product is. Looks like they want nothing to do with your product unless it's completely changed.

Sounds like you have the right attitude though. Good luck!

No more explicit than its peers, but that's okay. It's already on Amazon and as soon as I get a physical copy it's on and popping.

If you use something like Product Launch Formula you can setup an affiliate system, sell it using PayPal, and not have to go through anything like Clickbank.

    Lauryn,

Even though there are some products that are LIVE on the Clickbank marketplace that are in your niche, all I know is that they came to a conclusion that they don't have to accept new vendors.

I guess that they want to have less competitiors.

  • Don't change or tone down your product just to make it available on Clickbank. "Your" customers and fans are going to be where ever "you" decide to sell baby. Can I call you baby? after reading this thread I already feel so comfortable with you.

I just got a similar product rejected and mine doesn't even sound as explicit as yours Lauryn.

What would you warriors recommend as the BEST alternative to Clickbank?

I guess the reason is, that paypal don't process adult stuff.
On the other hand, how they can process other products , that involve even porn scenes...it's a double standard.

I would also like to hear recommendations.

I use paypal right now for my product and Clickbank rejected it.

They responded that I need to remove ALL profanity. Yet they allow Tao of BadASS to be on the Clickbank and thrive.

Tao of badass it's not adult product, it "how to get girls", but they have 2girlsteachsex that actually include porn material.

2GirlsTeachSex is not on Clickbank, they run their own affiliate program with 1ShoppingCart.

I'm so sick of hearing about the pressure put on companies in the US by investors and shareholders when it comes to stifling anything that involves sex.

It continues to baffle me how US corporations harbor such hostility towards a part of human life that is as natural as sex. Rather than be comfortable with the act which made it possible for them to be here in the first place, they reject any notion of sexual products that are designed for fun rather than for medical reasons.

Clickbank is joining a long list of other places where sexual products (not porn, mind you) are not welcome:

    Google Adsense and Adwords
    Paypal
    Aweber
    Kickstarter

    And tons of others too.

This article explains the challenges that you face if you are in the business of adult products.

It's ridiculous how they can air sex acts on a show that kids watch like the simpsons but they'll be damned if you're going to sell a sex book on click bank.

That's pitiful even when it has adult on it, the rating is adult, you've crossed your I's and dotted your T's, etc. etc.

    Ah, ok...
I need to read about this 1shoppingcart, never heard about them.
I am over 10 years in adult and we use adult billings - paycom(epoch) and ccbill, but they charge over 15%, and paypal don't accept adult material.

And neither is my product an adult product....its a how to get girls product as well.

Furthermore, I currently use Paypal for payment processing and Paypal has had absolutely no issue with the product.

I know this is old but i didn't want to start a new thread if the topic was already being discussed.
It's not BEING discussed - the thread ended 4 years ago. Instead of bumping old threads - start a new thread with current information.

I'm glad you bumped this thread.. interesting..

Don't listen to fuddy duddies like KK.. Some got nothin better to do than waste space..

Doesn't make sense to delete or close old threads to me.. You can still learn from them and some of the original posters may still respond with new info..!!

Now there's good advice...Don't pay any attention to one of the most experienced, well-respected members of the forum.

How did some of you people survive to adulthood? It's a mystery to me.
