A good advice, unfortunately, this is something that takes time to get learnt, fortunately, there aren`t a lot of pirates out there, and most of them wouldn`t have bought your product if it wasn`t free, so not a big loss, but it is something to think about.

You be surprised how often I find the ebook of video files this way. I usually use this if I want to find a good product to promote and find out if the product lives up to its sales page. So yea I would not have bought it in the first place. But also dont want to promote something which is easy to pirate.

Security often lack's on the sellers knowledge and sometimes it is made willingly so they can spread their pdf's with their links in it anyway and make money that way. So it is not a real loss it is only a supplement to make money in the long run.

  In all due respect to the poster; my concerns don't lie so much with whether or not I am being ripped off by pirating, but with the more positive aspects of creating and marketing good products that sell. I feel like what happens to them after they are created and sold is not so much of a concern to me. Wishing everything and everyone well. . . . LLS

  On a good note, checking torrent sites show little interest in the pirating of IM type resources. New movies, software and porn are still king for illegal file sharing.

  It's just something you have to calculate when you create products, and if you do the necessary to protect your products just don't think about it...

If there are some who like to steal these products by doing a simple search on Google then that is not a big deal. For some people it is. You are still safe because many people don't think like that and will take out their credit card and buy what ever you are promoting.

It is not worth your time to master this. You can do everything in your power to protect your product but you don't have to if you don't have the patience.

Only newbie that stored files/products on the server and unprotected. Especially, when its easy to download by browsing site:sitename.com in the google search query.

Fortunately, there are various ways to protect your products/files from piracy. However, no one can't stop that addicting activity.

Fortunately again, piracy can helps your popularity. You know what I mean, right? Good boy.
