Best resource for new bloggers

I've recently (within the past couple months) started up a blog to establish myself as an authority within my niche.

While I do have one or two resources that I use, what are the best resources (free or paid) that you used as a guide to building, launching and driving traffic to your blog?

    I am having a lot of success with IMGlobal. It's a completely new company still in beta launch but it has helped me quite a bit in one week. I actually feel like I have such a better understanding of internet marketing and SEO. I also like having a blog finally!!!! I kept thinking I needed to get a website and build it myself! NOPE!!!! Not the case and I'm so glad I took the 30 Day Free Marketing challenge. Wisest decision for growing my Solavei business :-)

    I can give you a very simple guide right here:

    1. Pick a long tail keyword with some traffic and a couple of 1 or 0 page rank sites in the results.
    2. Write a blog post with the exact keyword in the title and once or twice in the body
    3. Drop the deep link (full url of the blog post) in 5-10 blog comments.

    Always use WordPress for your blog. To monetize use AdSense and make a couple of your own products. Build a list by putting a subscribe form, Facebook and Twitter on the side bar.

    I have read hundreds of books and been blogging for 5 years.

    This is all it basically boils down to. 1 post daily with this method is all you need to slowly build up a solid blog like this.

    Everything else is just hype and BS that will distract you from doing the real work: at least 1 post a day.

      Ignore this post if you want something that works well and is sustainable. This is a terrible method for building a blog that gets traffic and make money.

      Hundreds of books and 5 years experience and all you could come up with is picking a long tail keyword and making a post every day based on it then blog comment 5 times a day for traffic?

      FAIL.

      More like create EPIC content and not some keyword laden nonsense. Forget about SEO completely. Spend 20% of your time writing and 80% of your time promoting your content to your target audience by locating where they hang out and getting it in front of them. Forget about adsense and it's crappy payouts and Googles ban hammer and make money through affiliate offers or your own products by building a list and marketing to them whilst offering real value.
