Anyone using Animoto business? Please help!

Hi guys

I dont know if I am being a techno numpty (it happens!) but I need some help with videos - I am using animoto business.

Having animoto business allows you to have a clickable link on the actual video which is great and works a treat on the animoto site i.e you click the link and go straight to the website.

BUT

When I upload it to youtube the clickable link disappears. It should appear at the end of the video but instead I get the "similiar videos on Youtube option"

Not what I was looking for and I am now confused:confused:. I have put an email into animoto but they can take some time to respond if they are busy (not knocking them - I think it is a great program). I am just very impatient and want to get this sorted now.

So is anyone able to enlighten me please.

Thanks a lot

Rach

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere in the FAQ's that the clickable links are only available within Animoto itself. It does kind of defeat the purpose..

    What I do is the following;

    1. Make Animoto video.
    2. Go to Powerpoint and create a slide with a 'call to action' bit of text including the address back to your site.
    3. Using Camtasia or a different screen capture software record the Powerpoint slide.
    4. Upload the Animoto video and video of the Powerpoint slide to Windows Movie Maker.
    5. Save the video and then upload to Youtube.

I know it is a lengthy process but I haven't yet found a better way..

Pat, thanks very much for this - you have been a fantastic help. I couldnt see the wood for the trees in their FAQ.

Now I guess I need to learn how to use the other software - I think I was born in the wrong century!!!

      Thanks again

I do pretty much the same thing as Pat. I am glad that Animoto finally stopped forcing their branding once you purchase their business package. The link is not clickable in YouTube because YouTube doesn't read the video file the same way, and I doubt it works on any other video-sharing website.

Yep, I think Pat is right Rach.

I normally put my "website" link page at the end 2x and then use a slide with an arrow pointing up to the right (this assumes you begin you description with yoursite(dot)com

I can't post a link yet because I don't have enough posts, but if you search youtube for "Killer Niche Strategy" under the "Traffic Blaster" user, you can see an example of this. I hope that helps!

I believe Youtube (Google) cancells the link and there's not much you can do about it.

        No problem Rach.

I have 15 posts now, so now I can post the link. I hope it gives you some ideas.

Don't forget to add keyword tags at Youtube and also put keywords in your Youtube channel!

One more tip. With some of my videos, I have actually found that Viddler get faster and better rankings than Youtube. Don't ask me why. Probably not always true, but it has happened to me a couple of times.

BTW, you can get a free 1 month trial at Traffic Geyser. Their service is not cheap (minimum $100 per month), but they have a TON of resources to learn about video marketing. It has been very helpful for me.
