Embed video into an image

Hi everyone

I have a blank desktop image and I want to include a video into that image so it looks like the video is playing through the desktop image.

Online blogger John Chow does something like this. Here is a link to a website where he does it. Blogging With John Chow

Does anyone know how this is done? Is there a plugin that does this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  The best way to accomplish this is using PNG images, which allows for layers and negative backgrounds, meaning you can remove part of an image so your video can display on a lower layer.

Another way to do this is by using video "skins", which are images applied to an HTML table, with the video displayed in the center table.
