Sending Visitors To Blog Post Before Sales Page

Hello Warriors,

What do you think is better for getting higher conversion rates?

1) Sending my list/subscribers directly to a sales page (for an affiliate product)

2) Sending my list/subscribers to an article on my blog (like a review) containing links within the content that redirect to the sales page (for the affiliate product)

I know it may be a better idea to simply test it myself, but I'd like to know what other people think about this.

Best regards,
Mike S.

It mostly depends, you have to test this kinda thing out. For me, when i send out an email regarding an affiliate offer, i usually send them directly to the sales page with a video. But then again I have seen people get better results with a landing page.

It definitely depends...I would recommend some split testing using both methods and see which method gets you better results...I have had good results with both ways but it depends on the niche and what you are selling and who your audience is....

    Do both.

Spread the test out two weeks - send test A tomorrow, and then send test B two weeks from that date.

There are countless other ways to attempt this but you really do have to test it out. The responsiveness of your list will be a factor but you can't really know for sure until you put both into action.

Find the one that converts better and try and improve it for the future.

    Mike,

That is just something that you will need to test out yourself to see what works best for you.

Some people will send their prospects to a sales video page and have success there.

Some people will create their own site and first send people to it so that they can read the review and do the pre-selling.

You got to take one strategy and test it out for a week. Make sure that you get almost the same amount of visitors to both processes.

Then you will know what is working better for you.

I still like sending people directly to a sales page or a video page so that the company can do the selling for me. That is what's working well for me right now.

Whether option #2 will work largely depends on how capable you are of providing content that entices a buyer to click through to the sales page from your website. If you can't do that, you might as well send them straight to the sales page from your email.

If you can, then option #2 is viable, but should still be tested against option #1 to see which gives you the better result.

You may want to send them to the sales page first, see how conversions are, then remail sending them to a review page which offers your full review.

Do this in a 24 hour period...

You want as many people as possible to see the sales page, then remailing will get more people off the fence.

I think Mark hit it on the head. Although I am really new to all of this, what he said makes sense to me, and you can get test results in a day to find out what is converting best.
