Not sure what's considered no 1, but I have used iwriter for a while and I'm rather happy with them. The order system allows you to choose your keywords and you'll be able to add specific writers as favourites and later on submit your projects directly to your favourites. The turnaround is in general fast.

You can find a lot of good writers in the Warriors for Hire section of this forum.

When someone tells you they have good luck with a particular site I suggest you click on the links in their signature. You may be surprised by some of the articles they feel "need no editing."

Pretty much all of the "big" sites have good writers.

They'll also have quite a few crappy writers. (Some more than others)

For my money, though, Warrior Forum has a much better ratio of "good" writers.

These writers will deliver high quality articles on time, and can be found anywhere from $.02 per word (depending on article length) up.

In general, you'll have to separate the good from the bad (and the ugly) a bit more on the bid sites.

My personal opinion is :
On Elance, quality writers charge a lot.
I used iwriter about one year ago, I received some article which never passed copy scape, so I left them.
Currently I am using the service of epic write and I am satisfied with their service, but their turnaround time is a little long. I am ok with this because they are providing good quality article.

It all depends on your budget. Usually the professional ones charge steep but worth it.
I have heard texbroker and elance are good but I have not tried them myself. I will though soon. Odesk is also good, lots of professional writers there.
I would not recommend fiverr due to a bad experience.

There are many article writers available. Some are better than others. Just make sure that you use a reputable service and ask for samples. This will help you figure out if the quality of the articles meet your criteria. Don't fall under the assumption that a more expensive article leads to a better quality article. Some services and writers deliver high quality articles at low prices.

Personally I prefer odesk.

What I DO suggest is to hire 5 different writers to write 1 article.

After that, pick the BEST person to write for you for the LONG RUN.

I've hired HUNDREDS (if not thousands) on odesk.
