Just recently losing a family member to cancer and having a dear friend fighting for her life, this is very sad. What the warrior community did to help him during his hard times was a very noble thing that doesnt happen as much as it should in todays society.

    Rest in Peace

I just read that on FB, very sad news.
      Ken was a good man.
He was one of my favorite Jazz Bassist and gave me nothing but encouragement when I started drumming again.
We never met in person, but I always thought he would be fun to jam with and just hang out with.

what we have done for others and the world remains

It seems I have attended too many funerals over the past few weeks. The last one, 4 days ago was for my Wife's mother. There are a pair of books my wife and I happened to read a few weeks prior to mom's passing that really helped. Both books were about extraordinary NDEs the authors each had. The books are...

"Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander, MD. It is not a religious book, no is the other one:
"Dying To Be Me" by Anita Moorjani

If anything death always reminds us to put things into perspective. It's there to remind the living that your time can be up at anytime and to stop stressing over the little things.

When you see some of the things people are worrying about or arguing about in a forum like this on a daily basis, you really wonder why we all worry so much about things that really mean so very little.

Well I am sure at a time like this having lost an income earner things would be much tougher than they need to be. Combine that with dealing with the loss of a loved one. Maybe someone who is closer to or in contact with the family could start up a Paypal donation button for those of us who just want to do what we can?

There were quite a few, wsos that were raising funds-- for his cancer cure. I am sure one fund via paypal can be setup by a reputable warrior and those funds could go to help his family.

Yeah there was a WSO Ken was running to raise money for his treatment.

            http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...one-price.html

But putting those things together takes time and I think most people would be happy to donate without receiving anything in return. So if someone close to the family can setup that button just let us all know the details.

The problem is we don't know if purchasing his WSO above that his family actually has access to that account or those funds. So better we find that out first.

One of the weird things about all this new technology is when people do pass away and all of their profiles are still left up on various sites. It's an eerie feeling seeing those.

Does anyone know how to get flowers/gifts to his family?

I know money won't bring Ken back, but I'm sure it would help in some small way if we could send something to let his family know we're here for them also.

I didn't know him, I think I've only spoke to him like once or something since I've joined.. but my thoughts go out to him, his loved ones & his friends.

I know how they must be feeling.. A loss is never an easy thing to deal with.

He had a tremendous amount of support, and I'm sure if he could thank you all once again for everything you've done for him, he would in a heartbeat.

    May he rest in peace

Life can end for any of us, any time.. we all need to remember that we are not immortal.. get off the PC, even if only for a little bit each day, and spend time with your family & friends.

The internet will be there when you come back.

Another one of the good guys gone.

The thing I'll miss is his sense of humor. He could see the funny side of anything but 'mean.' He just didn't understand meanness, which tells you more about him than anything I could ever say.

Sorry to hear about Ken. It was impressive how the Warrior community rallied around and helped him as much as they could. I'm sure he appreciated all the goodwill and efforts. That probably kept him going a bit longer and his spirits to remain high.

Very sad news indeed. I just lost a loved one to cancer (complications from surgery actually) and it's not easy.

I am an Orthodox Christian. We say this when people pass on, "May his memory be eternal."

I know, I am new here - but I am saddened that I was never able to know him.

Sad to see him go. First met Ken in the Off Topic forum in 2006, where we used to have daily verbal sparring with the likes of Edmund Loh, HeySal, Sergeant, and a bunch of other misfits. Ken and I once commandeered a chunk of California, sailed it around the world, and had penguins serving us martinis.

Gonna miss my crazy shipmate. Good sailing, Ken!

This is so sad. I know first hand the struggles of the battle with cancer, my mom has been battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for the past 5 years and a few years ago I lost an uncle to cancer.

I feel for Ken's family and friends now the most. God has given Ken rest. RIP Ken. We will miss you.

Just found this out. Was a bit shocked since I've always thought he did recovered from cancer.

Never knew him personally but as far as I can remember I did make a "get well soon" vid for him regarding his fight for the big C on his youtube channel. After a while he became very active in this forum which gives me the notion that he is on his way to recovery.

    Sadly, it's not the case.

I will be always be in awe of this guy for his contributions to this forum and as well as the big brother who gives and lends his help to so many warriors here .

My prayers goes to you and to your family and friends Mr. Strong. RIP kind sir.

Last time I checked in I read he was getting better. Obviously that progress didn't continue. ..

RIP, Ken. You touched more lives in more ways than you'll ever know.

Does anyone know if there's a donation thread so we can offer financial support to Ken's survivors?

I believe they had just recently bought a house and I'd imagine the money would be put to very good use.
