Interesting situation... Any advice for typo-type domain?
I have a "name.com" like domain name I registered in 1996. It was huge source of spam when we hosted the domain name, as many folks were setting their SMTP server with our domain name, as it is often used as an example of a domain name, and people would follow SMTP setup instructions literally. I took it down for all these years because of the spam complaints.
Today, I through together a quick wordpress site on ec2, I pointed the domain name to it, and instrumented it with google analytics/wordpress analytics plugin just for fun.
While I have only had it up and running for a few hours, the stats indicate that it would be doing a estimated 25 million page views if it runs at current traffic.
Most of this seems to be bot activity, but even real traffic is fairly impressive.
Any ideas on how I should monetize this for the short and long term?
