Get your site to the top of all the SERPS related to SEO?

I know it's hyper competitive, but that is how most look for SEO. Clearly the best person providing the service is the one at the top of the SERP.

Baring that, if you have some solid exercises on SEO that can be taught, tested, and measured, then you should put together an SEO freebie and start building a list.

For instance you could take all the SEO "myths" and "folk-lore" then debunk them. Entertaining and educational.

I would hire a guy who could prove to me they are worth their weight.

Just because you sell services makes it no different.

First build your site and become an authority. Then market your site. SEO is all about getting traffic to your site and being known in your niche..

I do have a book that might help you with traffic. It is listed in my signature here below. I wrote the book especially for people who are trying to drive traffic to build their online businesses and such. It is a good read.

I agree with dee4d, and you can also do SEO with targeted keywords as senior members suggested, often you can find your clients on forums.

If you're little bit to invest you can test PPC and banner advertising.
