Confused domain

Hi,

Last year I've bought a .com domain on register.com. now they are asking more than $40 for renewal. domain bought day : June 30, 2012

I got godaddy transfer coupon code which is cost only $2.67.

But i've doubt regarding this.

If i transfer to godaddy, i will get 1 year renewal + transfer right ?

i mean,
expire date will be extend to : June 30, 2014

right?

    I think that you will need to pay the transfer fee plus. You are not renewing your domain with the old company so you should not pay the fee. If Godaddy asks you to then do that because they are worth it and they are far more affordable then most.
