so I am working on this plugin, and need your opinion.

how many NON US visitors would be a red flag for you? like visitors from russia and spam heavy countries like that.

I say if 20% are from RU then that's a red flag.

also what other countries would you consider to be spam.

  • The % question will be a tough approximation for people to give you, as you will get many answers. Even then you would have to pick a range.

Countries? I don't want to be seen as 'country-ist' lol.

But i am remembering the Nigerian Prince who emailed me that he had $1,000,000,000 stuck in their bank account that they want transferred over to me.

  • well normally when your dealing with solo ads if you get so many visitors from russia, they where probably from a rotator script, especially if there where so many visits from there.
  • The main thing is not the percentage of clicks from a certain region but rather clicks not originating from email.

Clicks from Twitter are especially bad.

Clicks that come from valid Yahoo or Google emails are good. Also good are obvious internet provider originations like roadrunner, earthlink, aol etc.

Another obvious sign of bad clicks are bounces. If a real person clicks on an email ad they usually read the copy on the web site. Automated clicks obviously can't read and bounce immediately.

    • I think bounces would be on my end then, when judging the quality of someones list, I usually like to know how many US visitors they sent me.
