I have just completed my page true blog page, with some help I might add and was really a big learning curve for me.
I also made around 20 USD from adsense...big deal!
I tried for over a year to make money with affiliate links, spent a fortune and made zilch!
The question is, can a blog make any sort of real money?

Absolutely it can, and stick with it, your story isn't rare, a lot of people, myself included, have a similar sort of story to tell in the past.

    Why isn't it working?

What are you doing to improve the amount of adsense revenue?

Why didn't your affiliate products sell? Traffic? Poor content?

You have to find ways to learn from your situation, to get success.

You need to look at tracking, and find out what people are doing, and why, and look at competitors and how they're doing it, and what you're doing differently. Don't copy, but emulate...

It sure can ! I was reading about someone years ago making his first million from a blog! But you have to take into consideration that now there's A LOT more blogs out there then back then.
Doesn't matter if a thousand people have the same blog as you. If you do the necessary internet marketing required and know how to drive traffic to your site , then your pretty much set.

    Good luck

Yes you can make money from blogging but it's hard work. You have to create really unique/interesting content. You need to figure out what makes your blog unique? You want to create the type of content that keeps people coming back for more. If you're churning out content just to churn out content then you probably won't succeed. Focus on quality over quantity and incorporate various forms of media into your posts (infographics, slide shows, videos, audio, photos, cartoons, etc).

Once you build a strong audience you can then leverage that to work with advertisers to advertise directly on your blog, rather than going through adsense. To find these people just do some google searches for keywods that relate to your blog post and call up the people who are bidding on those terms. Tell them about your audience and how you think it's a perfect audience for their business and you'll give them a great rate.

Making money off the internet hasn't been set it and forget it for a while. You have to hustle, just like any other form of business.

If you have discovered you have the skills for blogging, you surely can make money from it. Although it doesn't end with writing and posting useful content. It takes a lot of hard work and persistence to drive traffic and make it known so you can start earning from it.

Do you write anything worth reading? Keep that question at the heart of your work. If you're just repeating what a zillion other people have done you are not giving your potential readers a reason to visit your blog.

A blog is just like any other web site out there on the web. You can definitely make money with a blog.

The reason why I say that is because the blog can provide the visitor with quality content, plus if you have some sort of sales mechanism in place on the blog such as a product and a way to accept online payments, then yes, the blog can make you money.

Its not whether the blog can make you money, but the real question is; is is, are you willint to put forth the effort to promote your blog and the products that are on it? Are you willing to drive highly targeted traffic by using various traffic generation techniques that have been proven to work?

These are questions that you must answer yourself because running an online business is a whole lot of work. None of that push the mouse button three times stuf, nope sorry, that doesn't even work anyhow.

It takes guts, determination, desire, and the willingness to see it all through until you do succeed.

You are doing it wrong. I sold a blog network sometime ago that was banking over 2k per month. Adsense only. If I can do it, there is nothing stopping you from doing the same thing.

Start syndicating your content onto high PR sites in your niche.

Once you've posted your content on your blog, wait until it's spidered and listed by Google, and then go searching for the top sites in your niche.

Start to develop a relationship with the webmasters or sites owners with a view to getting them to allow you to provide them with content for their site/s.

This is a really powerful but totally underused strategy for generating targeted traffic and quality backlinks.

Why? What did you do to gain more traffic?
Maybe you need new tools and strategies? How long have you been doing this? Maybe you can look for a training video?

Yes you can - I make money from mine. I use my blog as a sort of portal though to my online ventures. I offer my freelance services on there, have a few ad spots, some adsense code and I occasionally review products for which I am an affiliate for.

So - yes, you can 100% make money from your blog. But it needs to be built from the bottom up and have a nice interactive audience.
