    Craig,

Your emails need to be of interest to your list, and relevant. The subject line of the mail needs to be strong enough to peek their interest so they'll want to open and read the email.

Your choice of thread title here for example doesn't give anyone a clue as to what your problem is. You would get much more replies with something like "How do I make my list responsive?"

The body of the email should be something of interest to your readers. I don't know what niche you're in, so it's hard to be specific. As long as it's informative, of interest or useful (ideally all three) then you won't go far wrong.

    Hi Craig,

The concept is quite simple really. You need to provide value from the start and build authority with "providing more content".

When you make them an offer it is best to tie it within the content you have been providing them with. Teach them about X and then provide them with a solution that will help them with X.

Testing your sequence / funnl is vital too. Once you are getting a decent source of traffic through... tweak and monitor subject lines and see if your open rate improves. Tweak your message to see if your "click through" rate improves. Test short emails, long emails etc.

It's not something that can be perfected within a couple of days. You need to test and learn from everything you do.

Just make sure that you are selling the right products to your target audience.

It really need to be really targeted and helpful to your subscribers.

How is your free gift and/or welcome mail? What are the openrate/clickrate for these?
This really need to be quality stuff,as it is here you will build the relationship with your subscribers.

If these two are not of quality, your open rate will fall dramaticly.

You also want to make sure that your traffic comes from really targeted sites. If the traffic comes from average people, not really interested in your niche, they will not open your e-mails.
