It Really Does Get Easier

My friend and I were just talking about how we used to "moon walk" like Michael Jackson when we'd make 1 $27 sale a week. And we'd work HARD for it.

Just as a message to newbies... it really DOES get easier.

I used to be a guitar teacher and being new to the internet is a lot like learning guitar. The first year or so is hard and for most people, not fun at all. Your fingers hurt all the time, you get mentally worn out and down about your playing, and your fingers feel awkward when you try to play chords, solos, and scales. But once you break through, now you're having fun playing Metallica songs and your other favorite tunes without even breaking a sweat or thinking about it.

...In IM, the differences between being a newbie and being successful with more ease are in the resources you've built, the knowledge you've gained, often the relationships you've built, and just the drive to make it happen.

So... hang in there! Bust your butt to break through because it gets easier on the other side.

Right on. That put a smile in my face, comparing how hard playing guitar is then having fun with Enter Sandman.

Jason, thanks for giving me the inspiration for a great article. PM me your
guitar site URL. I want to include it in the article content. As a musician, I
can totally relate to your example. My fingers bled like crazy when I first
started. I didn't think I could get through it. Now, I can play with very little
      effort at all.

Great post...yes, it DOES get easier.

        Steven,

Thanks for your reply. It's been a while since you and I talked. Blast me a PM or e-mail any time.

As for the guitar site, I decided to take it down a few months ago. It was more of a hobby than anything. I'm left with a 1,500 list of guitarists though.

    That's good to know!

I think too many folks get overwhelmed, unfocused and tired then just give up.

That leaves room for us that plug away for success!

Helps seeing this, especially as someone who struggled with guitar for the first year and then over a certain point you just 'get it' and can start impressing others with your finger-work.

So far I've devoted a ton of hours to learning/research over the past two months, have two sites up now building traffic before I monetize and just hoping that once the floodgates open I'm not staring at a $10/mth project with them.

I just hope that's also the case for me, man. I've started playing the guitar 2 years ago but have improved enormously, I can even play super hard Dream Theater solos, so I guess I'm better than an average guitar player; I hope in 2 years I'll be better than an average Internet Marketeer and make $5K+/month

    Thanks Jason!

I am glad to hear that things get easier once you break through. And I can understand that mentality, I believe the same thing when it comes to Martial Arts..... For the first year its no fun (well ok it is) and you are in pain but if you continue to work hard at it.... well good things come to those who persevere.

    Thanks!

Right now IM seems very hard. I am creating my first website and there is so much you
need to know to do it well it can be discouraging. I do plan to keep plugging away however and hearing from someone who has broken through to success does help. Thank You

    You're welcome everybody.

...Just to make my point a little clearer... My pals and I who are doing well online now used to get excited over a little $17 sale. Today I was PayPaled $3,300 in affiliate commissions for 1 week of work, which I can verify if the mods need me to.

So keep your head up and fight through the difficult beginning stages, build your resources, grow partnerships, and just make it happen.

    HI Jason:

I'm new here. Can I ask how long you've been involved in IM'ing and what is your main concentrated area (ie, PPC, affiliate mkt'ing, etc) or do you dabble in several areas?

      Hi Peter,

My business model is filled with a lot of different techniques like paid advertising, e-mail marketing, and affiliate marketing. I don't do just one, but all work together for growing a business.

      Hope this helps.

      Jason
